Forum move project: Replacing links to illegal scanlation sites from profile pages

As mentioned in this thread, this is another project after which we can start allowing CRTs. We got a list of pages containing illegal links that need to be replaced, from a SOAP member. We require volunteers for this project so we can get it done. This is important because such links can cause legal trouble for the wiki and these pages can't be edited as long as these links are present in them.

We need to go through these pages and:

1. Find all illegal links from manga scanlation sites
2. Open those links as images (you can copy-paste those links on another tab and then right-click on the image and select "open image in another tab")
3. Upload them on imgur (you can paste the original image link on imgur for this)
4. Replace the original link with the imgur link on the profiles.

If for some reason step 2 does not work on any manga hosting site, you'll just have to manually screencap the image and upload it to the wiki or imgur.

Keep in mind, the edit won't go through until and unless you have handled all the illegal links in a page, you can always go back and continue editing from where you left, if you miss some of the links. Also, please do NOT just remove the illegal links, you strictly have to replace them with imgur links.

Above is the list of all the pages she has handled (with a little help from me), and she has also volunteered to take care of the pages listed at the bottom of that list, which my bot failed to edit while updating the vs thread links because they contained illegal links. So she has to replace the illegal links as well as update the vs thread links.

And if the manga scanlation sites in question have shut down, I would greatly appreciate if you can search for and save the relevant images/manga pages via other sites.

The image links usually contain chapter and page numbers, so it should not be impossible.

I would recommend using Firefox, and the uBlock Origin plugin, preferably combined with Bitdefender and Malwarebytes, and possibly a VPN service. You can also use the NoScript plugin for extra security, but then you will have to constantly check it to see which pages that you are willing to accept scripts from whenever you visit new websites, or they will not load for you.
 
For links in my sandbox, I can just remove them myself personally.

It is much better if you replace the links to scans with ones to accepted sites such as Imgur or the wiki itself instead.
 
Someone should contact some staff members so that we have more volunteers for this and can move ahead.
 
I can help too with this but shouldn't we make it a bit more organized like it was done for vsbattle links? This to not create conflict with others and to know which are done and not.
 
@Antvasima I intend to do a revision for the verse anyway, so I can replace the image links myself on top of adding additional image links for other things.

In extremely important situations, higher ranking staff members can give many other staff members notifications at once by using the @Username command.

Yes, of course, but we need more volunteers first.
 
There is way too much to do for you alone, but feel free to place notifications on the wiki message walls of all our administrators, content moderators, and discussion moderators with a link to this thread, while telling them that it is extremely important that we finish this project, so we can open up the wiki and allow content revision threads again.
 
There are only around 100 pages, we already have 5 volunteers. If we can get 5 more, this could be finished quickly and without a hassle.

Exams on my end are nearly complete, so if there's still more to be done here I can help later today.

You should definitely not remove the links. You should replace them with links to the same individual images uploaded to Imgur, the wiki itself, or some other reliable storing site.

I would greatly appreciate if you and everybody else who have done the former undo all of your relevant edits, and apply the correct option instead. Thank you.
