The arguments I'll use are kinda the same as Jon vs Terry.

Mai has likely a higher AP and dura, as it caps at 5 megatons against Felicia's 1.67. Mai also has better formal training, being skilled in an actual martial art with many applications, including projectiles and pyrokinesis, and arguably has better acrobatics, although Felicia should be able to keep up with her on that field.

Felicia on her side has probably more experience and against less skilled but more deadly opponents, as the Darkstalkers mostly fight to kill each other and Felicia had to fend off many of those enemies. Felicia also uses an unusual fighting style, to which Mai might struggle to adapt, and claws are dangerous.

What ultimately tuns the tables, imho, is Felicia's insane LS compared to Mai's, her ability to summon allies and an aura that would rapidly (likely not too fast but not even too slowly) corrupt Mai's heart and make her go insane.

I vote Felicia.

bump.

thanks but what's LS?

and how does felicia corrupt people. isn't she a good person so wouldn't it turn people good.

also bump.

Lifting strength, in a physical confrontation like this it can have a major role.

Felicia's corruption is based on the fact that all Darkstalkers give off an aura that corrupts the hearts of the good ones and drives insane minds that are not particularly strong.

For how weird it can seem, we have no reason to think that even good Darkstalkers don't have this aura. We can believe they have the ability to turn it off, but resisting this aura was considered something fundamental in order to hunt a Darkstalker.

we still need more votes though.

Would Felicia really use her corruption aura in-character?
I don't see why she wouldn't, especially in a death match. We also don't have any reference about them using it, imho it's possible she wouldn't but it's more likely that she would.

I mean, SBA means willing to kill and all but in-character I doubt she'd try to drive someone insane. Still, it implies a degree of seriousness I guess, so I'm voting her as well

With Mai's AP advantage if she wins it's gonna be in a short amount of time so I'm realizing madness doesn't really matter tbh

By how it was worded I always interpreted it as being passive

A strong mind/spirit is needed to keep one self from losing their
own sanity is needed. And a dark heart is needed so that they are not poisoned
with the aura that the creatures give off.

I agree that without knowing the exact timeframe it can't be assumed it super fast, but at the same time I don't think it's too slow, as resisting the aura is portrayed as something you must resist in order to hunt them. But it's part of the reasons why I think Felicia wins.

Also, a match isn't concluded until grace ends, that's its purpose.

I mean, she has to be able to turn it off considering her job

Either that or it just gets ignored for plot convenience, but regardless I don't think she would keep it off even while fighting someone who wants to kill her. If we look at her quotes, she also isn't one who goes easy on enemies.

I can't "help", grace is a 24h period that starts from the moment the decisive vote is casted.

This period serves to both ufficialize the result and give people time to vote the other character, make new arguments, reply to previous ones and so on.
