Feed Me Your Wretched Anime Suggestions

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. (Saiki Kusuo No Psi-Nan)

Absolutely goated comedy anime, makes fun of the cliches that I think you dislike such as perverted protagonists. It has almost no combat since the main character is basically a god compared to the slice of life verse, anyways I just really liked it and maybe you will do too. Also a rare anime where the dub is actually better than sub, due to how hilarious the voice acting is

Its 48+6 episodes. Sadly, Season 2 is not dubbed only Season 1 is. You can watch it on Netflix if you have it. It also has a short sequal called "The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.: Reawakened"

8.3/10 on IMDb

You know? It's a little weebish at times but Saiki K is one of the better suggestions I've seen. Wouldn't be disappointed if that won next year's poll.

You, mental asylum, now
@DaReaperMan can (probably) back me up on this when I say that Fate/Zero is very different from most other Fate series, even just aesthetically. It's much darker, more "mature," doesn't really use most of the normal anime cliches, and is a story about ideals. There's a reason there's a meme about Fate/Zero being the only good Fate (which I think is bs, but eh, it is a thing).

Granted, it is a prequel, so some things might be a little jarring to you. Hm... maybe I should think about this more...

Sincerely, I ain't, I'm hateful of a lot of tropes within anime. An anime that doesn't engage with said tropes doesn't have marks against it. Perverted protagonists, over elaborative dialogue, stupid pointless combat for the sake of it, the list carries on and on. It's all just very annoying, I'm often surprised that it has become as popular as it has given the alternatives.

I can appreciate when anime does shit right. Genuinely, the ones I've mentioned liking, I've*really* liked them. They're just so ******* rare.
Ah okay. That's pretty reasonable.

Firstly, Reaper is a terrible source of assuredness for anything, ever. Secondly, lmao Fate fan 🫵

One I think might fit into Bambu's taste is Castlevania but even then I don't think it is that dark... plus sometimes it feels like it tries a bit too hard on some areas, enjoyable show though

Summer Time Rendering
A mystery focused series with some action scenes of 25 episodes. It have a pretty good pacing with no filler episodes and a few darker bits, there is however some scenes that are a bit cliche from time to time and can make you raise an eyebrow.

Read: ReZero but worse

Read: ReZero but worse
The two aren't comparable, the only thing similar between the two is the time travel. It's like saying that Re:Zero, Erased or Shinu hodo Kimi no Shojo ga Hoshii (that name is way too long) are in any way comparable just because the protagonist time travel to save someone. The plots are totally different, Murder Mistery with a few fight scenes at the end vs Isekai power fantasy.

And STR is the superior one here, just the simple fact that the hero don't have infinite retry with no consequences carrying over the next loop, making it so the protagonist can actually lose put it above Re:Zero. The fights are also more grounded, more intense and better choregraphied than in Re:Zero.

the only way you can claim this is if you havent watched a single full season (or didnt understand a lick of what was going on)

I feel like there are more prude ones. Maybe it's an era thing.
It's arguably worse, as the MC perturbs anyone who wants that sort of thing, while everyone else ruins it for people who don't. Nevermind, it's pretty bad the other way.

I implore you to avoid Kamen Rider.
The prude ones just have an issue in the other direction, that being that the writers feel an incessant need to make everything else perverted for comedy's sake. It ******* sucks, man.

You said you didnt mind slice of life and drama series right? You might consider giving Shouwa Genroku Rakugo a spin. It is basically the life story of a old master in a obscure japanese form of theater. It spans his time through the world war, the rise and fall of his craft, his rivalry and brotherly love with another master, etc. Its also fairly tropeless, at least thats how I remember the show.

Sounds great, actually. I'll try to bear it in mind.

I will absolutely not be watching the degeneration of my beloved Lord of the Rings.

Transformers Armada. To answer the bullet point list it has a really great dub, the animation is quite weird at times during the first season but picks up the pace later on, and it's 52 episodes (but you can skip any episode between like 5 and before 14 so it doesn't matter too much at least I don't think) it's 7/10 on IMDb

Buddy, I say this as a Transformers fan, I am pretty sure Armada is almost the anti-thesis of what Bambu generally likes lol

It is not that Armada is bad, its just that it prob does not fit Bambu's taste kek.

I personally think my brain goes wonky just from seeing a robot turn into a car with a sound effect and vice versa, not everyone shares that mentality with me kek

I keep trying to find something to recommend only to realize i don't actually watch a lot of anime, myself. 🫠

You've got like. A month, before I actually start asking for recommendations again.

Once again recommending Kamen Rider Black RX because I know you'll enjoy it.

It's about a world where monsters and humans live alongside each other but the humans hate the monsters and live in fear of them. Behind the scenes, an organisation with roots buried deep within Japan's government uses politics to achieve its ambitions and stir the tension between the humans and monsters. Caught in the middle of this conspiracy is a man who was wrongfully turned into a monster and seeks to take down the organisation as the lone Kamen Rider.

Edit: Here's a cool ass trailer too
