Explosion Yield Units of measurement

with this equation to find the explosion yield of nuke like explosions Y=((x/0.28)^3)/1000, I was just wondering what the units of measurement are and how to find them if they are variable.

I know that Y= megaton yield, x = kilometers iirc, but what are the other ones? what do 0.28 and 1000 mean in units and are they variable?

With the /1000 not included, if x is measured in kilometers, then Y is measured in kilotons. The 0.28 is an adimentional constant.

Ok, thanks, so /1000 is not necessary?
