All Might is 7-A now. I always thought 7-A was kind of cool and am excited to create a match for him in this tier, his opponent will be my favourite pokemon of all time Sceptile

Rules:

Speed equalized

Battle takes place in an old forest with very sparse collection of plant life.

No prior knowledge for either combatant

This is Prime All Might

Score:

All Might: 1

Sceptile: 5

Incon:

So AP is negligible, and I'm pretty sure All Might has an edge in intelligence/skill. Apart from that though, Sceptile just overwhelms with versatility. Bullet Seed, Energy Ball, Razor Leaf, Dragon breath etc all allow Sceptile to play a much better range game, speed amps in Agility + IQ skills + precognition with detect makes Sceptile hard to hit, and Sceptile can stay healthy through Synthesis, Giga Drain and leech seed as effective forms of healing. If Sceptile gets weakened too much though (which I don't think will happen), Overgrow activates giving Sceptile a big boost to its grass type moves.

Sceptile should take this

All right, it's prime All Might now.

Just to confirm, are the two of you still keeping your votes?

Yeah, I'll add a bit more to be safe.

Statistics reduction should stop the AP gap from being a problem. Along with this, if Sceptile decides to use it, Grasswhistle puts All Might to sleep and should give Sceptile enough free hits on him to take the win.

All Might is approaching a 2x AP gap with shockwaves alone.

His actual punches and not just the air he draws in would be far stronger, so really all All Might needs is one solid hit to deal grievous damage. Sceptile usually likes to play in between mid and close range, but will almost inevitably want to come at AM with Leaf Blade. When he does that, the deal is going to be sealed.

All Might has dealt with villains that have direct resistance to his style of attacking and still powered through. Sceptile's Synthesis and Giga Drain won't heal him fast enough if he even get a chance to get them off before being pounded into the ground. My vote is on the Symbol of Peace.

you missed Spinoirr's vote

A 2x AP gap is really not that much, given that Sceptile scales far above the 531 megatons, especially not enough to overpower Scep's healing with just a punch. Sceptile has stats reduction to stop AP from being much of a problem, and agility will make it very hard for All Might to get a good hit in. Also, given that the AP gap isn't much, All Might will be injured pretty badly by Sceptile bombarding him with ranged attacks.

Also, causing grievous damage to Sceptile is an easy way to get your ass kicked by overgrow.

Okay, so for Sceptile:

  • Leaf Storm will drastically lower the amount of damage All Might's shockwaves deal.
  • Leer and Screech will severely lower All Might's durability, as will Crunch and Crush Claw should Sceptile land them.
  • Agility greatly increases Sceptile's speed, flat out doubling it with just one use.
  • Detect will help a lot with dodging attacks as it is instinctive reaction.
    • The IQ skill Quick Dodger further increases Sceptile's ability to avoid attacks.
  • Sceptile's dodging abilities will be passively increased drastically should all Might actually get it to low health via the IQ skill Clutch Performer.
    • This goes hand in hand with Overgrow, which increases the power of Sceptile's grass type attacks significantly when it is low on health.
      • Endeavor will also become much more powerful should All Might manage to manhandle Sceptile.
  • The IQ skill Counter Hitter will actually reflect 1/4th of the damage from physical attacks All Might uses against Sceptile.
  • Absorb, Mega Drain, and Giga Drain will all allow for Sceptile to quickly sap All Might's energy and use it to restore its own health, and Leech Seed will allow for this to gradually and continually happen indefinitely.
    • Synthesis and Grassy Terrain will also allow Sceptile to heal itself.
  • Dragonbreath has a 1/3 chance of paralyzing All Might and permanently cutting his speed in half.
  • The attacks Leaf Blade, Night Slash, and Razor Wind coupled with the IQ Skill Sharpshooter allows for a near 100% guaranteed critical damage.
  • Grass Whistle will put All Might to sleep and leave him vulnerable.
  • Sceptile has a homing attack in the form of Magical Leaf.

@Weekly

Yes but when Sceptile fights he isn't using 90% of those moves. Even assuming he knows more than 4 as a Wild Pokemon, he certainly won't be using strategy to beat All Might. Although not purely animalistic, Sceptile is not smart.

If you watch Sceptile fights, even a trained one likes to use Bullet Seed and Leaf Blade. Does Sceptile have all those options? Sure. Will he use them? Almost certainly not.

So do we consider the four moves thing legit or just a game mechanic?

@Andy

Probably game, but Sceptile isn't going to be carrying 20+ moves, nor will he be strategizing the optimal use of them all.

No, we consider Pokémon to have all moves they have because they can have them.

Pokémons may not be strategists, but they know how to fight and know it well.

Gotta agree with Paul here. Why do all the Pokemon have every move ever?

Also yes, they know how to fight, but Sceptile has been shown to prefer bullet seed and Leaf Blade from the one we know most about. Assuming that they will randomly implement normally "meh" moves because it would work on All Might isn't valid reasoning.

Actually Sceptile has a higher SP.Atk than Atk so its probably more likely to use Special Moves instead of the Physcial Bullet Seed and Leaf Blade

Pokemon don't operate off of what attack style is optimal for them...

Are the stats actually supposed to represent what things the Pokemon is good and bad at canonically? This may just be ignorance speaking, but I highly doubt someone like Scizor for example is actually supposed to be as slow as its speed stat implies

I'm also kinda confused on whether to accept the current Sceptile votes or not, the problems against them certainly make sense but if they are just how pokemon are taken to work are I'm not sure.
