Actually the Farmer is very VERY trigger happy with his shotgun and we all know at SBA's starting distance, Shotgun will always be better than a mere Handgun.

Not sure the shotgun will do much good, even if it hits Alex we've seen him survive fatal wounds for an extended period of time. My guess it's because his blood's so thick it looks like ketchup, giving him some sort of weird Type 2 Immortality where he takes forever to bleed out.
