Why are characters from the New 52 line referred to as "Post-Flashpoint" instead of "New 52"? I know they're both correct, but I'm curious as to why one was chosen over the other.

Because of the existence of Rebirth. New 52 ended in 2016, and some characters from that era are still around in Rebirth. So, that's why it's called Post-Flashpoint.
