[0-3-0] (Marsh Vs Wilbur Waterman) Wilbur tries to become the School Gang Leader (For some reason)

Marsh's Profile and WIlbur's Profile
(Yes. Wilbur only has three Chapters to go off of, but not only will he get a good bit stronger throughout the story to the point where this won't really be fair anymore, even likely in the next few Chapters, but Marsh also doesn't have much relevant screen time, so it's a good first fight for Wilbur.)

Credit goes to H3110l12345I20 for making the Marsh page.

Stipulations
  • Fight takes place in the All Boys School courtyard.
  • Wilbur is from Volume 1, Chapter 3.
  • Speed is equalized.
  • Starting distance is 10 meters.

Scenario
Wilbur finds Marsh thinking to himself after recess, and thinks he's an ABO. Word had gotten around that Marsh is quite powerful as the School Gang Leader, so he feels like taking on Marsh might be a good indication as to his own strength for the long journey still ahead. As such, he forcefully challenges Marsh to a fight to see who wins.

Who Wins?
Marsh maintains his title (Marsh WIns) - 0

Wilbur unintentionally becomes School Gang Leader (Wilbur Wins) - 3

They both get crushed by a cow, Earthworm Jim style (Inconclusive) - 0

Well, both combatants are going hand-to-hand. Marsh is more skilled and has superior LS (relevant in hand-to-hand combat), while Willbur has an AP and willpower advantage to fend off Marsh's feat of beating up multiple 10-Bs and 10-As. While Marsh has superior skill, he hasn't fought a person with a superior AP advantage with knives. And I'm pretty sure that unless Marsh disarms Wilbur or restrains his hands, Marsh is going to get stabbed Ghostface style.

I'll wait for more arguments, then I'll vote for Wilbur.

Personally, I think this fight is actually pretty close, hence why I had this idea.

At first glance, it seems like Wilbur would have the AP advantage. However, there's an argument to be made that Marsh would actually claim that category, or at the very least, they'd be relative. Simply put, we haven't seen Wilbur punch or kick anyone yet, so we'd have to give the edge to Marsh because of that.

As for Lifting Strength, that's where things get hairy as both have different, but potentially similar feats. Marsh could pick up someone with one arm and toss him several meters. Meanwhile, Wilbur did the same to Aria with two arms, but also knocked over a cornerstore shelf. Aria was hurt by it, and the shelf was knocked over, implying a Street Level feat.

So with that, Marsh should win, right? With similar AP, and Marsh having the better skill, he should just overwhelm Wilbur's willpower and win.....

Well, not quite.

Yes. Marsh is generally more skilled, but Wilbur had actually worked around a similar disadvantage before in well, Aria, who's described has having the finesse in her fighting of an MMA Fighter. Plus, while Wilbur's Striking Strength might not scale to Aria's AP, his Durability definitely does, making him at least x3 more durable than Marsh, and likely even more durable than that given he took multiple of those >3 kilojoule shots from her, and being depraved of oxygen multiple times, and was still able to overwhelm Aria. As long as Wilbur pays attention to Marsh's claws, he should be fine for the most part.

Finally, while this fight is equal speed, Wilbur would have the better reflexes. Marsh was blindsighted by Coco headed right at him while Wilbur dodged a kick that was already launching towards him.

Overall, while Marsh has the superior Striking Strength and combat experience as well as slightly higher versatility and similar Lifting Strength and combat smarts, Wilbur's superior Durability, Supernatural Willpower, Reflexes, and experience against foes on Marsh's level would likely prove to be too much for the canid in the long run.

Wilbur FTW (Mid-Diff)
