Considering there is no further progress to be made with this thread, the best course of action would be to close it and revert Ness and Giygas back to Low 2-C. I will handle the edits, whoever wants to close the thread may do so.
There's a difference between mods slowly trickling into a thread (like what was happening before) and a bunch of them just showing up at once (some of which you didn't even ping). And like I said, everyone seemed to be pretty uninterested in this CRT prior to the revisions being accepted. But...
You don't find it the least bit suspicious that like 5 staff members who were previously uninterested in this thread all showed up simultaneously conveniently after the revisions were already applied? And, I'm sorry, but I still find such behavior to be extremely petty, even if it was conducted...
It's still not excusable. On what planet is it acceptable to raid a thread (after it had been concluded, mind you) with a bunch of staff members out of spite because you can't handle certain characters getting upgraded? It's pathetic.
I see. Well, considering that most, if not all of the mods here now disagree with the fractional scaling, I suppose we can just drop that altogether. If the other arguments for Low 1-C Ness and Giygas are not sufficient then they will have to be downgraded back to Low 2-C for the time being...
The conclusion was reached because having all three games take place in one timeline would cause some inconsistencies in the plot as I described in that section. The absence of Ness and the fact that he doesn't possess the abilities of the Dark Dragon would have no explanation otherwise. And...
Nobody made the argument that sending prayers is something exclusive to the Player, the important part is that their prayers are what actually finished Giygas off, when even the combined prayers from everyone on Earth could only wound him. If it were not for the Player, the battle would have...
I'm just going to repost this scan from the OP to give clarification. Giygas takes four prayers from the Player before he finally dies, meaning he tanked three of them, and mind you this is after he had been gravely wounded by the prayers of humanity. If he was any lower than tier 1, he would...
I don't see how the manga is relevant at all right now, the problem that people have is with the fractional scaling to Low 1-C. The 2-A cosmology provided by the manga would have no impact on this.
I thought I told you about it, but since Ness absorbed his Magicant, he consequently absorbed the portion of the Truth of the Universe that existed in the Sea of Eden. Also, without Low 1-C, 2-A wouldn't be able to be applied because that would be using the exact same reasoning, unless you want...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't even an insignificant fraction of Low 1-C power still be Low 1-C? I'm not exactly sure how you could get to tier 2 by dividing power on a tier 1 scale. The idea is that a part of the Truth of the Universe exists in the Sea of Eden, which got absorbed...
Can people stop making matches for EarthBound characters please. If you guys read the title of the recent thread you can clearly see Part I, as in there's going to be a second part.
None of the other mods are interested in this thread unfortunately, and since DarkDragonMedeus is an EarthBound expert, his input is especially valuable. Antvasima also said that the mod input that we have so far is enough already. While I agree that more mod opinions would help the validity of...
Alright, I am awake now. Considering that two of the mods (one of which being DDM) and most regular users agree with a flat Low 1-C rating, and one mod only agrees with "possibly Low 1-C", what do you think should be done when the changes are applied to the profile? @Antvasima
Yeah, that's the thing, I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to take that statement at face value when the human eye can see significantly farther than what would be reasonable for the radius of such an explosion.
There is actually a calculation done for this on the Top Strongest Wiki by StrymULTRA. It only results in 9-A though, so it wouldn't make much of a difference.
The guidebook says "This nuke will nuke everything in sight if it is defeated". Just because they are called nukes does not mean that they are literally nuclear bombs, nor can we assign a specific tier to them because nuclear bombs can vary in destructiveness. Either way, yeah, it would be...
7-B for the reactor robot makes a huge assumption. We can't say that they are analogous to actual nuclear bombs when they aren't even dedicated explosive weapons, they are foot soldiers who's primary purpose is to refuel other robots. Slapping on a tier 7 rating would be completely unfounded...
I have already established in the CRT that the real world's rating would be independent of the rating we accept for the game world. The main question at hand is whether we consider Low 1-C to be a flat rating, "likely", or "possibly".
I understand. If we can't get more staff to give their input, we will have to figure out some sort of conclusion with the discussion that has already happened. Thank you for your help on this thread.
We haven't discussed the cosmology thoroughly enough to reach a concrete conclusion, unfortunately. The most I can say is that level 2 is not happening because the assumptions are not grounded solidly enough. However, it does seem that people are open to the idea of accepting 2-A alongside...
To be honest, I doubt any of them will agree or even entertain the idea, so I'm leaving it crossed out so that we can focus discussion on the other interpretations of the cosmology.
Alright, I'm awake now. I've been reading through and GiverOfThePeace pretty much said what was needed. Although, it seems as if the level 2 version of the cosmology is too much of a stretch to be accepted, so I will go ahead and remove it from the CRT.
