Neutral on the ability itself existing. There is the whole "It's just Law Manipulation!" angle, but I think this blending just happens with a lot of those powers (Information Manipulation and Conceptual Manipulation come to mind), so it boils down to indifference for me.
As for the scope of it...
Oh, Lord, this progressed quite a bit.
I'm free for this weekend, ostensibly, so I'll try to get around to this eventually. No shortage of threads that I should be looking at, so.
Hopping in here just to nip this at the bud: Voids of nothingness aren't inherently 1-A just for being voids. Nothing here seems like it particularly suggests the Void is superior to non-void things (Or even that it has BDE), so, yeah.
In principle the sufficient condition for Tier 0 is transcending all possible contraries, not all contradictories, so it doesn't necessarily involve logical contradiction. It can if the verse wants it to, though, of course.
Granted, you can say the concept of Tier 0 can very easily lead to it...
Oh, I forgot to mention: For some reason, we treat these abilities as being applicable as methods of offense, hence the Belmonts and every Creature of the Night are currently listed as resisting them by virtue of resisting magic. A quick look at the scans should tell you this stuff really isn't...
So:

I believe there is already a thread tackling how much of a mess Quantum Manipulation as a power is in general, so we can ignore that bit. What I want to focus on is the...
Yeah, put me as an agreement for now.
I was previously concerned this would result in a slippery slope for other verses based on religion, but I've recently been in a thread involving one such verse, and, lol, lmao. Yeah, it's blatantly a very different case from other such things overall. This...
Yeah, the other quotes are good, but this one in particular expresses the point of all this pretty explicitly. For reference, this is what Tolkien says in the paragraph immediately before it:
So, yeah, the Legendarium really is inseparable from his personal metaphysics and not supposed to...
No, not really. "Layered" is a condition that can be met just fine without involving higher-dimensional space, obviously. Don't know about the other thing, will look later.
Yeah, I believe so.
You can put me as agreeing with Tier 0 Eru now, for the matter. As I see it, this thread now is really just a discussion on whether Tolkien's broader metaphysics are applicable as evidence for High 1-A+ Ainur and as supporting evidence for Eru's Tier 0. The latter is already...
Okay, this is interesting as hell, actually. Here's Tolkien's full quote:
And, for reference, the "mystery of names" that Tolkien mentions refers back to this passage from Fellowship of the Ring:
So, putting all this together: Tolkien says that the third-person predicate "He is" is something...
No, it is probably of interest. If Tom Bombabil is considered an "outsider" to the Legendarium and yet he is part of the overall verse, then this seems to give some insight on how exactly the verse's scope works. Can you elaborate a bit further on that?
Hmh.
Yeah, I'll say I'm rather on the fence about this revision, as it stands. Obviously, the issue isn't whether the statements suffice for the proposed tiers; they do, and "This is drawing from IRL religion" isn't an objection worth entertaining.
Fact of the matter here is that Tolkien had...
I mean, technically all Tier 0s are equally all-encompassing, so they circumscribe "all the same information," so to say. It really comes down to whether it functions analogously to an intellect. If it does, and yet doesn't know something (That doesn't fall under the stipulations written in the...
Yeah, put me on disagree with regards to Low 1-A. Seems all there is is this blink-and-you'll-miss-it piece of text in the background mentioning a "Transcends Dimensions skill," which by extension obviously lacks all the elaboration needed to actually fit the bill even with the new standards...
Yeah, I've gathered as much. The issue is that, to my understanding, the Brain Layer is comparable in size to the human world, and yet it's also the part of Ideon that the "It's more real than the human world" statement is referring to. This makes me think that it being "more real" isn't really...
I'm curious on how the distinction between enlightenment and the Dharmakaya is supposed to work. You said that distinctions and form are already transcended and revealed illusory at the former level, and yet it apparently has degrees (Bodhisattvas being more enlightened than Monks, for example)...
Are the Light and the Darkness all that the God from Swamp Thing #75 is confirmed to transcend? Looking through the OP, that looks to be the case, but I'll ask for confirmation first.
Yeah, the logic remains the same. Either the Demon World is one huge 4-D space and so doesn't get past Low 2-C, or it's 5-D, and the logic used for 2-A to work makes it Low 1-C instead (Alongside a lot of other stuff, I suspect). Really a quirk in how Tier 2 is structured.
Granted I haven't...
Not too sold on this working, honestly.
To elaborate: 2-C-through-2-A at the moment, from what I understand, work pretty much as pseudo-5-D tiers. This is to say that being 2-C and up isn't just about affecting the alternate universes themselves, but also about affecting a tiny little 5-D space...
