Devil May Cry Anime show Discussion Thread

Should I even ask anyone here regarding Arius in this show compared to the games? Or its also agreed game version was better done
I have completed upto Episode 3 of Season 2 and my review will be based on that.
Beyond the silliness of the name Arius(Greek) Von Ehrenberg(German), and having a Scottish Accent(voiced by Graham McTavish of all people), and non-American too, basically the guy is a complete hodgepodge, characterization wise he doesn't seem too bad or worse than the game version. However, his grand plans are well, lol.

With how S2 ended, a S3 may be possible years later, most likely with Vergil becoming Urizen assuming he succeeds at the end and Dante becoming depressed like his DMC2 version in the games after all these events

The next plot is either DMC3 or DMC1 since Lady and Vergil is at the same position as during the start and end of DMC3 respectively

Thing is DMC1 kinda happened in a different way already in the show, Dante might as well assume the worst happened and if Lady just goes out of her way, leaving Dante for her own agenda woth the father, all I see is Dante just falls under depression and detaches himself

S1 he already went through a DMC3 scenario kinda, immature, joking a lot, S2 he got more serious, but still jokes whenever possible, but shows he feels more mature later, kinda like DMC1, after these events, i just see him end up like DMC2, barely jokes, acts more serious then ever after a lot of shit

Plus we already had two of the biggest demon lords done, Fortuna with the cult would be next thing to do or just skip ahead and do Urizen, but then if Nero is to be created for this too, especially differently, how you go about it

Mundus is still there though
Yeah, but I dont see Dante deal with him yet till he reaches a certain level of power, assuming Vergil wins that and how he says he wanna take his place as king, Urizen can be made out of that

If not, idk if Nelo Angelo can be done again differently, given he more or less had that already and sorta brainwashed him, just not like in the games, but more like by lies and manipulation

4 and 5 werent done yet with anything from it with story and characters, so 2 and 1 were more or less done already and Jester in parts too in regards to 3

"While everyone else was roasting Netflix for the ugly character designs and the trainwreck of a plot, I was the only one who absolutely lost it laughing when NFV whipped a Phantom Sword out of his crotch and hurled it."

Finally finished season 2, my god it takes a lot of skill to take the things people complained about in the first season and double downing on it so much that the writing takes a complete nosedive and just have a lot of plot holes and retcons for no reason. I've heard people talk about other adaptations being so abysmal that certain characters are only based on their original counterpart in name only, this season made me understood what they mean by that with bad adaptations. My god Vergil and Dante are not at all how they are at a most basic level.

So from a 1/SSS (Smokin' Sick Style!!!) what would be your review rating for season 2?

Also who do you think will win the Aura Battle between Nante and Nergil?

I watched it alongside Glass and Red and my review is:

It's better than the absolute atrocity, soul-destroying sin that was Season 1

So intead of a 0/10, it's a 1/10

when are you updating the profiles?

just look at Mary, she is somehow listed below Dennis despite folding his ass several times in season 1

Leave it up to IGN to give this trash of a season an 8

Edit: (ok why is Dante’s theme song name censored on the forums?)

Adi produced Castlevania, he didn’t write or direct it. It’s far better than whatever DMC ended up being since it kept the core spirit of the series intact.
