Sonic General Discussion Zone Act 1: New Frontiers

This also reminded me of when Super Sonic got knocked out in Super Form to the ancients lasers which aren't as strong as the eclipse canon

below planet and mountain level Super Forms and Titans ig!!! get to the downgrades /j
Actually I might happily take this back bc the scene where it talks about the canon could take place before the flashback with The End, but I'd need to start a new save file to make 100% sure

above planet and mountain level Super Forms and Titans is possible??? /j

I recall seeing this from a twitter convo and yeah this is just a hype statement, nothing in Sonic 2's story really supports this idea. Especially seeing as it's not a story that deals with the idea of time unlike CD and Gens
I think its in reference to the scrapped time travel plot. Sonic CD advertisements have similar "surpass time" statements in reference to the time travel as well.
Page 3 of that flyer near the top right also references time travel as well.

"8 megapixels, 10 zones. From the age of dinosaurs to the future. A beautiful and diverse super time travel that pushes the limits of the hardware."

Is that not the guy who tried to nuke our Hypertimeline stuff? And after being defeated he proceeded to try and nuke our 5-D stuff not even 24 hours later before, again, being defeated?

So Sega initially developed two sequels to STH that both had time travel plots, both introduced a new mainstay character (Amy and Tails), both introduced a new lore element (Time Stones and Super Sonic) and both had machine duplicates of Sonic?

Yet more proof Sega US and Sega JP were playing tug-of-war with the blue blur since near the very beginning.

tbf there's one way to get 7-D base forms if you can prove the cosmology can get there, albeit not reliable and I don't buy it

Solaris to Egg Wizard to Infinite (bonus points including all other ultimate weapon statements Eggman made, and Time Eater for an extra step)
Solaris gets the higher dimensional AP and durability for Super Forms
Egg Wizard makes Sonic and Blaze go full power and is something Eggman 100% remembers
Infinite is stated by Eggman and outside sources to be his ultimate weapon that would return his history of defeats to Sonic

I think I found a way to justify astronomically high Lifting Strength for base characters while explaining how the Train feat in Sonic Shuffle isn't an anti-feat

The Riot Train, a locomotive corrupted by Void, who could easily pull the entirety of the base cast telekinetically, took 4 members of the main cast to stop it.

Max obviously, we’re not there with the base cast.
Well technically you could argue it with Forces. Eggman with the Real Phantom Ruby, the same one that was able to press Classic Super Sonic with post-Gens scaling in Mania, was getting pressed by Modern Sonic, Classic Sonic, and Original the Character. Like, how does this one get explained? There's no way Modern Eggman is doing worse with using the Phantom Ruby than Classic, a technically inferior intellect (doesn't have all of the Modern feats yet aside from helping with the Time Eater).

This talk of higher dimensional base cast reminds me: Dodonpa didn't negotiate with Atlus to get Ren Joker Amamiya in CrossWorlds for nothing.

Feel free to interpret this however you please:

Deep cut huh? Obscure characters level like Marine, Trip, Sticks, etc? Are well talking Freedom fighters level ? (referenced in Spinball) Sonia/Manic level? (Sonic Maina unintentionally referenced their names) or deeper?

No way its SatAm lol

Classic Sonic cast, Surge, Chaos, Mephiles, Infinite, Orbot & Cubot. Thats it.
That is very true, "deep cut" could just be surface level. Many people tend to exaggerate intent online and overused words or phrases for engagement bait with "peak" being the current one iirc.

Cool fight, even though I think it would've been a far more even fight without Shadow taking off his inhibitors against Base Zero. Maybe later on in the fight, but it definitely would be far more even than that.
Pretty sure him taking off his inhibitors while Evolved should have killed him.

Yeah, that IS lore-accurate to what would have happened but, tbh? Feels cooler to if it wasn't. Though, tbh, not a big fan of Evolve Shadow in sprite animations. Makes the powerscaling a little funny. Especially since Shadow usually has it without Evolved being involved.

There's literally several infinite gaps between them, especially after that massive upgrade to him that he got from the recent CRT.
And the Accelerated Development has crossed infinite gaps before. Classic Sonic becoming comparable to Modern pretty much immediately, the sheer magnitude of Sonic matching up to Emerl after his Endgame Buffs, Sonic beating Perfect Chaos in Base with Shadow doing the same but with a far superior threat that was Metal Overlord (I still don't buy the Doom Powers making him THAT much stronger and subscribe to it being more of a roughly base feat if anything), Sonic being at least one-third of the power needed to beat the Death Egg Robot in Forces (which uses the same Phantom Ruby from Mania, which could contend with Post-Gens Classic Super Sonic and even damage him through his invulnerability).

Not to mention Shadow's just far faster and has more arguable high-ends (still don't subscribe to him only being Immeasurable in White Space. I think that's monkey court).

I know I buy different things for scaling than most here, but I think base Shadow can beat Zero imo.
For me, I try to look at things at least somewhat objectively. Big reason why certain scaling stuff for Sonic (and really any other character/verse) isn't accepted is due to the vote of public opinion (of course many of it backed with its own research). I think a lot of the proof for some scaling is in the pudding, but that requires a complete restructure and that is something many just don't wanna do.

That's part of the reason I wouldn't make a CRT for my opinions. One of them would literally require a restructure of some degree of almost literally every Mainline Sonic character page. Imgur ****** with Shake's work for citing things enough, and I don't want to add to that load.

Something like that, for a series as big as the mainline Sonic continuity, is best done with a group effort.

Most experienced Sonic supporters here have or are involved with a project that is still set to be concluded.

I also just don't see it winning a vote since I know I'm in the minority ( here ) with that opinion, but yeah.

Though I'd be down to help however I can with a CrossWorlds canon crossover CRT thing if anyone ever wanted to doing that.
