DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

They're actually explaining how they get sponsors,
  • When the team works with sponsors who want to bring their own IPs to the show, they always tell them that they must maintain full creative control, and that the sponsor must be okay with their character either killing or being killedThis has apparently turned numerous sponsors away (cowards, smh), but their favourite sponsors to work with were Warframe and The Boys
  • Warframe in particular were completely okay with Raiden beating Excalibur and were actually really shocked when the team revealed that they concluded Excalibur wins
They said, and I quote from Ben, (with a shocked tone) "Are you sure Excalibur wins?"
They also apparently really like Raiden and just found it hard to believe Excalibur took the win

So they apparently choose MUs for episodes by talking wit
h the research team and asking who wants to lead the charge on a specific MU
If a character has a long history, someone with knowledge on that character can step forward and offer their help to lead the research
They're acknowledging that the "Death" part of Death Battle is the reason that the show became so successful
It's part of a bigger convo about how their priority is always on "which character would win in a fight?" rather than "what if these characters met?"
so the way they decide a winner for an MU is by sitting down and having a freeform discussion about the debateThe debate doesn't end until they ALL agree on a winner, and if they can't agree, they just think they've missed something and go through the research again
When they want to cover an MU with characters that no one is familiar with, they go by who in the research team is most interested in checking out those series
Chad and Liam were really rooting for Miku in the Island
Barbie is their preferred for her

  • They pull from the community for researchers, and if one of those researchers proves to be capable of handling something larger, they'll collaborate with them to create an episode
  • Beyond that, they'll sometimes reach out to that researcher with a request for if they're up for writing more episodes
  • They don't specifically hire writers out of the blue and haven't done so for a long time, and they feel comfortable with the way they do it these days

Cool to see the team stand up for themselves

Warframe and The Boys are goated for being ok with losing lol

Undertale's Top-Tiers are Low 1-C now

Since mfs gonna say the rating is trash without even seeing the reasoning for it, here's the cosmology blog:

It's kinda of funny that the Top-Tiers are Low 1-C on their AP but can only reach MHS speeds at most, lol
Good enough, put them against HIM

L1C titans would be funny
It quite literally only applies to Ymir and Founder Eren (Not even the Founding Titan, just Eren with Ymir's powers)

But like, the fact that they straight up introduced an infinite multiverse and then a realm above that multiverse that transcends space and time to the point that distance is irrelevant and both exists all at once and does not exist at all is kinda textbook Low 1-C

Fair 🗿

True, but hey it's still funny 🗿
Founder Eren going from weak to strong, lel

I can't believe that Aang is gonna be fighting a racist

Well considering the devs are seemly allergic to giving most playable characters even a hint of melanin on their skin (especially the gods or god tiers), on a meta level it's pretty funny and kinda messed up too.

That said, I'm well aware Hoyo have to adhere to very strict beauty and body standards hence why well over a dozen female playable characters all share the same model (and why I stopped playing Genshin Impact two years ago).
Reminder that Aang was lowkey calling Firebenders slurs when the gaang were infiltrating the Fire Nation
I mean they literally genocided his people and considering he spared a bloodlusted Ozai, a few slurs is quite literally nothing in comparison.

I still remember when UT was tearing through tier 2 back in the day (before all the layered hax bs wanked resistance negation with extra steps) Hyperdeath goat was holding his own against Xeno Goku, Annoying Dog was able to stalemate Arceus, Chara was soloing several popluar verses including the HST and fricking Sans had tier 2 AP. Also I believe UT peaked at immeasurable speed (it met the old speed standards).

Then it went through a massive wave of downgrades, thanks mostly due to a ton of misconceptions and straight up fanon about UT lore (e.g Gaster had a profile here at one point, despite having zero feats and barely being a character). The verse peaked at L2-C and supersonic speeds (immeasurable attack speed only) at it's lowest iirc.

So it's kinda funny to me, UT is stronger than ever now, with much better jurisdictions, physiology pages to reduce indexing clutter, Deltarune cross content and reaching tier 1 (without needing Player R>F arguments) while having full on immeasurable speed again that meets the current standards (god tiers).
