DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Yeah tbh aint no way DB researchers actually think Goku is speed equal to someone who matches Flash. If there is one conspiracy theory thats right, its that they do wank losers to not make fights seem as big stomps lmao

...Unless the wank would make loser win mind you.
Prob but like in terms of the immeasurable there just both in that realm

What part? Even then its not composite Goku, composite means literally any piece of media, including crossovers
Black boxes and some one off explanations, I was just pointing out Heroes was used, not that they did a composite. I mean that was what it was announced as anyways, Infinite Frontier Supes vs CC Heroes Goku

So I finally stumbled upon this.

The final chapter of the Geats movie novelization.

I underestimated how valid the Gaim scaling for Geats is ngl. I thought it was 50/50 but after finally reading it for myself.

They are directly comparing their levels of godhood at being relative. Mela's desire for killing gods is based solely on how strong they are and they're even implying that Geats is even more impressive.

Holy shit

This been already translated m8 and it's doesn't equate to that so no it doesn't equate to both being equal

How so?

The very same chapter confirms Mela can perceive their mythologies at every single point in time.

He travels (back) in time to see a weaker version of Godhood Geats in episode 45 despite already knowing how his mythology concludes.

He knows everything about Gaim and Geats up to that point and the battle against Saver happens many years before it.

This makes this at the very least relative

Melos never fought Gaim in any capacity just both him and Geats were on Melos hit list

no it doesn't really even
Woz don't even have recordings of TMOTB
reading again nothing really indicates any arguments of them being relative

Geats doesn't need Gaim scaling it boils down to how far Nero will scale

"So, Melo, what mythology interests you?"

"Let's see..."

As a true mythology fan, there are two mythologies that I've been particularly interested in lately.

First, there's the legend that spread on a certain planet. It takes place at a certain point in time on Earth.

At that time, Earth was on the brink of disaster due to the encroachment of the Helheim Forest. After countless events, a young man and a girl ate a fruit called the Golden Fruit , awakening to godhood. Then they left Earth together with the Helheim Forest.

Thanks to this, they were able to protect their homeland from the threat of Helheim.

The deity of this mythology, the "Beginning Man," appears to be a very powerful god, one worth taking a life for."

Clearly Mela does lol

What does Woz have to do with Mela anyways?

Mela knows everything that Gaim ever did. It means he's got superior access than Woz, as shown in the chapter verbatim.

"One side transformed into Geats IX in the form of a white fox, the other into Tycoon Bujin Sword in the form of a black ferret, and the two engaged in battle.

…This must have happened before the Getas became gods.

I told Mela, in her black Geet form, that:

"Mela, why do you want to see the Geats before they became gods?"

"Even though 'god' is just a title, we still need a way to deal with it, right? You're analyzing the Geats' power."

"I see!"

However, seeing the serious expressions on their faces, I found it somewhat amusing.

In the end, in my time, not only will my family or I be left with nothing, but even the Earth will be destroyed.

So why did they still fight with all their might?

"That's ridiculous. The end of the world was predetermined."

Both of us returned to base.

"Why didn't you take down the Geats earlier? Wouldn't that have been easier?" I asked Mela.

"No no no! The enemy must possess godlike powers, otherwise the audience will be bored~ and more importantly, I won't be satisfied either."

"Really? That's typical of Mela!"

Mela sat down in the chair, a smug expression on her face.

"Has Mela figured out a way to deal with the Geats yet?"

"Geats are quite strong. So..." Mela snapped her fingers, and a screen suddenly appeared right in front of me.

What was projected onto it was… a giant tree. Just like Yggdrasil."

Mela not fighting Gaim doesn't matter. He would know all about the Saver battle and how he one shotted a guy that viewed the infinite realms as fiction and became one with it.

He knew about Gaim when Woz didn't.

He knew about Geats's ascension before it even canonically happened.

that doesn't prove anything lol Mela wanted to fight Geats at his best
and Mela doesn't even know about shit about Gaim only his partner did
Again that doesn't equate to being comparable let alone scale to one another hell and even then he's being arrogant

Mela never fought Gaim so nothing in novels confirms anything about where they stand other than Twos God's on his List to kill
Him knowing about Gaim doesn't mean shit when nothing even confirms he would scale to him

What? Mela is the one reading the mythology to her. You're getting confused by the rough translations.

Arrogant despite having killed "Countless gods" in very effective and successful ways? The first four chapters of the Novel walks through with you at how accurate he is at his job.

Arrogance does not erase results.

"And so, we decided to act together under the names of God Slayers Mela and Melo, appearing in countless other worlds and destroying the gods there.

Normally, to avoid being detected by The Police, we would build a base in the space between space and time.

Once, I suggested to Mela that…

"Mela~. Mela is strong, handsome, and interesting, why don't you let others see that?"

"Huh, I didn't think of that! Would everyone be interested in my god-slaying process?"

"Yes! I really want to see it!"

"Yes, yes, yes! Then let's do a live stream. But..."

"Leave it to me! I may look like this on the outside, but I'm actually a member of the 'Mythical Report' team !"

You still haven't elaborated on what you mean by this btw. You've just been saying "No it doesn't" without explanation.

Gods that we haven't seen how strong and mainly Featless?

The novel doesn't give any Strong evidence on how they compare other than there both Gods
Mela found Geats Title more impressive that doesn't translate to "He's comparable or superior to Gaim" hell rereading it doesn't equate to it in any fashion just hearing his origins and how he became one got his attention to meet Geats

This shit isn't new really nor make some game breaking discovery

What does this have to do with him being good at his hobby denouncing his arrogance?

See this was my thought process too.

The problem here is that a vast majority of Mela's dialogue (Episode 45, This Novel, the Movie) regarding gods is on how powerful they are.

The stronger they are = The more likely he is to want to murder them.

Almost everything that comes out of this dude's mouth is powerscaling intrigue with Deities. I thought it was just a coincidence from the movie but he's doing the exact same thing here in the novel too.

Regardless on how you deny it, the wiki/forum here already treats Geats and Gaim as relative anyways.

I was skeptical about it until I read the chapter for myself and I fully understand why they do now.

and again it doesn't prove in regards to where both sit at in comparison to each other
Once he heard about Geats his mind was already set in beating him for the audience

Like I give a shit what the wiki said lol this shit isn't some ground breaking discovery nor is something that decides all things in power scaling

Geats already got Good ass scaling without Gaim

Mela is a chronic (CHRONIC) powerscaler.

Mela knows everything about both Gaim and Geats. (Kamen Rider Gaim Novel, Geats's final episode before it even chronologically happened)

Mela's intrigue on gods is always tied to their level of power/godhood

Chooses Geats before Gaim.

Why are you ignoring this?

I could grab the screens/clips from Episode 45 and the Movie too. You're ignoring Mela's powerscaler personality.
I'm serious, half the shit he says about gods is like he's in a powerscaling forum.

Well I didn't know about it being this blatant so it is for me. Someone randomly posted about the translation.

Indeed

Deku VS Miles confirmed this theory is a straight-up fact, lmao

That doesn't negate what I said once he heard about Geats origins and such he sets his sights on him and isn't gonna back out

I'm not what ya saying doesn't even prove you're point

He specifically picked Geats after he heard his origin after Gaim and hearing him being powerful that doesn't translate to him being stronger than Gaim or being comparable the literal translation never supported it

Mentioning something =/= being used in the episode

If Garou from one punch man doesnt get his cosmic form, but they mention it as to why not and all, thats equating to being used, they literally tell you in your face they didnt use those for both

Learn to read and stop being ignorant as f*ck
Wasn't talking about the episode.
