DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Sth sth contrast ultimate hope sth sth ultimate evil.

Tbh Supes win kinda supports Gary Stuness damn this MU is bad regardless.
The MU sucks ass given it's not unique in any capacity Superman constantly fights dudes like darkseid, doomsday, zod and whatever cosmic entity of the week villain on the daily

SK is just some edgy OC

It doesn't help the SK retroactively made one SCP an aspect of himself while the SK himself was made an aspect of another SCP (this happens alot) plus all the contractions with even head-canon being fair game for articles. I don't mind edgy OCs but when peeps take them way too seriously and invest alot of time into them, well there's a reason (a few actually) why this site doesn't index SCP anymore.
Why is it the bad MUs that get popular most of the time?
Tbf one of the core appeals of many MUs is spectacle rather than connections, banter and/or being debatable. Hence why questionable stuff comes up, regularly.

What's the connections? It seems like a pretty cool fight, but too bad that it's a massive stomp for Thor.

Also this is my first post of 2026 finally, nice to see y'all again
  • Two legendary amazingly powerful people who are seen as unstoppable, with very few people in their world being able to stand up to them and take them down.
  • They both come from humanoid races of powerful beings who are above humans, Demons and Asgardians. However, they both contrast in the fact that Demons seek to destroy humans while Asgardians have protected them from multiple cases. They are also half breeds with their mothers being humans, Ava and Firehair, who actually may have been connected to greater powers in their own right, Ava being implied to be an Umbra Witch (a little bit of a fan theory but there is some evidence behind it) and Firehair being an avatar of the Phoenix Force.
  • Both of their fathers are legends who humans worship, who protected humans from outside threats. They would both also defeat and seal away a powerful force, The God Tempest and Mundus.
  • Both of their fathers would give them special weapons which would represent their roles and them as people, Dante being given Rebellion as a symbol of his rebellious attitude and Thor being given Mjolnir as a symbol of his role as The God of Thunder
  • Both of them would be given the responsibility of stopping a cycle, Mundus’ resurrection and Ragnarok, which their fathers tried to stop but couldn’t fully.
  • Both of them grew up alongside their brother who contrasted their more wild side with a more cool and collected personality, Vergil and Loki, who would develop a lot of jealousy towards their brothers. This jealousy would turn to hate and they would later want to kill their brothers. However, they would both put aside their differences and work together on multiple occasions.
  • Throughout the years both would fight powerful world-shattering enemies and defend the world against them.
  • Both wield many different weapons throughout their lives, weapons like Alastar for Dante and Jarnbjorn for Thor. However, they would prefer to fight with the weapons that their fathers gave them.
  • Both of them in their younger years would be wild and arrogant, thinking of themselves as invincible and above everyone else. They would then go on journeys of discovery by learning from humans and learning to care about them and keeping their egos in check.
  • Both of them would live under different names for a long time, Tony Redgrave and Donald Blake, where they would learn about themselves. However they would contrast a bit, Dante willingly changed his name to run away from his past while Thor would be sent to earth by Odin without knowing about his past. After a while, they would reclaim their names and return to being the people they used to be.
  • They would work alongside humans to protect the earth from threats related to them.
  • Both of them would encounter people who could wield similar powers to them, Nero and Beta Ray Bill, who they would at first fight but would soon become friends. This person would find a weapon related to them that they were able to wield, Yamato and Mjolnir, this weapon would give them powers able to rival the hero. They would then give these new people something similar to these weapons, Dante would let Nero keep Yamato out right while Thor had the Asgardians make Stormbreaker for Beta Ray Bill.
  • Both would refuse to take up the roles of their fathers, not wanting to give up their lives of adventure and taking on that responsibility.
  • Both of them would fight against a being trying to bring about the end of their homes, Arkham and Surter, who would be assisted by their brothers, Vergil and Loki.
  • Both of their brothers would die and despite their complicated relationship, they would mourn the deaths of their fallen brothers who in their last moments would help them. This would cause them both to have a long time of depression, missing their brothers who had given them so much happiness in their youth. They would find a reincarnation of their brothers who shared their souls, V and Serrune. They would both feel incredible guilt for their past actions and want to atone for them. Their brothers would be reborn and their relationship would start a new. They would then be on much better terms, returning to their roots of how they used to be.
  • Both of them would lose the weapons that their fathers had given them, Rebellion having been broken by Urizen and Thor losing his confidence in his godhood because of what had happened with Gorr. This would cause them both to go on a journey of self-discovery, looking back at their past and reflecting on their lives. They would then reforge their weapons, taking back their titles and their father’s place after all these years, Dante absorbed Rebellion and the Devil Sword Sparda taking his father’s place as the legend and creating the Devil Sword Dante while Thor was able to wield Mjolnir again after his journey to become worthy again and was made the new All-Father.
  • Both would gain a great power that would put them above everyone else in their world, Sin Devil Trigger and The Odinforce, which has a giant powerful attack that destroys everything in their way, Judgment and the Godblast.
  • They are both very kind and care greatly for others, wanting to protect people who can’t protect themselves.
  • The battle is Greece Vs Norse, Dante being named after the writer of Dante’s Inferno and Thor being named after the God of Thunder.

Tldr reddit connection Slop

What does that mean?
It means its a one way canon, aka for DC this is canon, but not for The Boys

Much like how Dante in SMT is canon to SMT, but not DMC or Akuma in Tekken is canon to Tekken, but not to Street Fighter

In short, that is DC version of Homelander, which is i guess a Superman tier character if he aint holding back on him

Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification.

Well, doesn't really change that Homelander fans/powerscalers will rely on this one more often than not.

Its another Asura's Wrath Akuma situation.

Or people who scale the anime of DBZ and YYH higher than the manga.

Well Mortal Kombat Homelander is also busted, would be like high multiversal or 2-A, just by popping Liu Kang head like a balloon in his own ending

Along Omniman fisting Shang Tsung guts (pause) to then invade the realms with the Viltrumites

Using the anime is fine, unless it become too contradictory

My issue is how everyone suddenly started treating crossovers as these hyper-serious things that'll change debates. Like, you can just ignore them if they aren't canon (Which, a majority of them aren't)
Not a day goes by where I'm not thankful Smash Bros and Magic's Universes Beyond are non-canon.

Also just remembered, chuck, the ex friend of seth, which is his friend again now, made a video on some death battles

Deku vs miles which along another person he deadass argued miles is a herald level character and its consistent, even going as far to say he has more herald feats then Deku does continental feats and what not

Also Hulk vs Godzilla, which he says base Hulk beats all the versions of Godzilla, even Ultima just by scaling to better stuff, but marvel one wins as per the crossover scaling he had plus beating Hulk in it

Oh and this is his scaling for Marvel ratings on these versions of the character

Inferno Hulk, Astral Regulator Thanos and White Room Phoenix and Eternal Storm

Hard to keep track of all these tier 1 esque comic characters names
