DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Link, Robin, and or Persona Protagonist BR.
Latter two I think could maybe work decently (So long as they only stick to the main 5 Robins) but given their usual episode length and even the longer than average episodes I don't think it'd be great at least for the analysis. The Mega Man BR didn't have much room to go over all of them in as much depth as they could've / should've have (OG Mega Man barely got 3 mins for example) and in the case of Robin each one has more history than every Mega Man combined which could lead to some or all of them getting an analysis that just feels rushed.

Link's main issue is that there's 14 of him, and sure none of them have as much depth or history as any of the Mega Men, but put together there's just so much to cover for 14 characters esspecially given the sheer amount of items Link has, as well as the different opponents they've faced (You've got all 3 versions of Ganon, Majora, Bellum, Malladus, Yuga, Demise, The Nightmares, and the sex offender). For any of these BR's they'd def have to make a much longer episode than normal to not have it feel lacking which I can't see happening with the budget, schedule, and resources.

Fight potential however, for Link, Robin, and Persona, is great regardless of length, longer than the usual animation would be best but I think they could work with their usual length.

I think the biggest problem is that there aren't many battle royales that are worth doing and would get a lot of attraction, i think. The Megaman Battle royale was at least an interesting concept
That's...True. And fair enough, it may be because of the Megaman BR being good in concept and execution (in my personal opinion) that it's clouding my judgement.

That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing a few more.

Although they are h2h characters so how you do it? In 3D we know h2h aint their forte and live action is top kich work
They really need to hire another animator who is good in h2h. I've seen indie animations with better martial arts showcasings than non-Torrian DBs, one apparently wanted to animate Geats when he won the poll.

This is gonna sound cruel, but the issue with modern 3d episodes is they focused more in the visual effects over the choreography. They really boil down to "characters shoots lasers, big boom, and they move really fast". The h2h elements also look bad since its just them mindlessly swing blades, kicks, or fist over actual martial arts.

This is why even Torrian's older episodes hit different even with the outdated graphics. Since he puts more focus on the actual substance of the fight over making it look pretty. That and he is frankly more creative than the writers in how he handles character movesets. And is more skilled in handling complex movements and is apperently knowledgable in irl martial arts (TJ vs Balrog and Snake vs Sam). If Dante vs Bayo were down today, it'll just be like Chief vs Slayer with how generic they will clash their weapons.

Best comparision will be Raiden vs Excalibur and Raiden vs Wolverine. The former's choreography is really just "they swing blades super fast and jump pretty high in buildings" while the latter has a more detailed exhanged in blows (its hard to describe in words but just watch the two and you will get what I mean).

Moro and the guy who did GvS3 are legit the only animators who match the "vibe" Torrian's animations had. This is not to throw shade on the others but they just hit different imo.

The OCG Stories manga establishes that the trading cards and their stories exist across Yu-Gi-Oh’s infinite multiverse. (OCG Stories, Chapter 1, pg. 2) In addition, characters with their own TCG lore and stories, like the Dark Scorpion Burglars appear in the anime.

There’s no reason to think monsters like Metaphys or Anotherverse Gluttonia are stronger than, say, the Egyptian Gods or Yugi’s more powerful summons. Especially when monsters in the anime have feats on Gluttonia’s level (see Glow Neos nuking a universe).

Yes, some of these cards don’t appear in the Yu-Gi-Oh anime, but not every Pokémon has appeared in the Pokémon anime either. Not all of the Pokédex entries used in the episode, or the research as a whole, have been directly acknowledged in the Pokémon anime too, but they were still considered.

At the very least, Yugi’s best monsters would scale to any relevant card game exclusive monsters with Duel Links, since he interacts with many of the modern cards like Metaphys and Gluttonia in it. Something that should be fair game if Pokémon Masters EX and its scaling is also being considered.
From the Yugi vs Ash Q&A Part 2. Really hopes this doesn't mean they're gonna scale literally every single Yugioh monster with each other regardless of context or existing in a entirely different world with each other and this is solely for duelists and their higher-leveled monsters, because IIRC the "Duel Spirit World" was created from the Human World and is probably lower than it, no?

Its the other way around, the Duel Spirit World came first and exists on a higher plane of reality than the human world
