Hello
And...

WELCOME TO

THE ULTRA SERIES DISCUSSION THREAD: 60th Anniversary Edition

We can talk about the series and other related stuff here (though it's probably gonna be about the scaling and changes for the verse most of the time). Powerscaling discussions in general tends to be riddled with SPOILER though, so do beware of them.

Now, we have a perfectly good discussion thread, so you might be asking "why make a new thread?"
There's a couple stuff off the top of my head:

First, Cutlery, the guy that made the discussion thread. He's got real life stuff to deal with and can't really be active often (
and I wanted to change the thread's title to this one, but that doesn't seem all that important, and I don't want to bother him

Second, and probably the most important reason, I want this series to be more popular. Not just in VSBW (though that would be good, we can always use more supporters), but in general

I grew up with this series, and I'm sure a lot of other Asian kids do too. I even remember wanting to stay home and watch Ultraman Max instead of going to church (that's gotta be a sin written in the bible somewhere), and I want kids nowadays to be like that too (not the skipping church part, skipping any type of events for a damn tv show is just plain bad), and derive the same joy I did as a kid, I know some people would also like their favorite franchises to be like that.

The series has brought so much joy to the world, both directly and indirectly through the franchises it inspired. It always has it's ups and downs, but even the greatest things in this world has flaws. Even writers of the stories we enjoy are flawed, and so are the characters they write, and the ideas they penned, but those flaws always push us to do better, to do greater things, but it can also crush us, haunting us with its presence and driving us mad with the obsession of scrubbing it out. Maybe we could never get rid of flaws, as even the drive and obsession to erase flaws is in of itself a flaw of mankind. Perhaps flaws are intentional design made to drive humanity forward, but who's to say, we're just individuals after all, floating through the empty abyss of space. But there's a certainty in this world, that there are flaws, individual or worldwide, that you can't simply deal with by yourself, but you're not by yourself. There are others besides you, others to build bonds with, to create new stories, however riddled with flaws, a bond not born out of force, but out of love and understanding, and perhaps through that bond, born out of the individual desires, we could find answers to our flaws.

Okay, that went in a weird direction, so let's bring it back to the Ultra Series.
For those unfamiliar with the Ultra Series, here's a quick synopsis (lifted straight from the Ultraman Wiki)

Created in 1966 by the "Father of Tokusatsu", Eiji Tsuburaya, the Ultraman Series has remained one of the world’s foremost and enduring science-fiction properties for nearly six decades.

Though there are dozens of iterations and interpretations, one core truth remains the same: A Giant of Light from a far-off galaxy has come to Earth, not to rule or conquer, but to guide humanity in various ways, as well as to bond with a human host and act as a final guardian against the endless tides of giant monsters and aliens (collectively called Kaiju) that would threaten our world.

Across three generations, Ultraman has pushed the envelope in terms of both storytelling and special effects, carrying on Eiji Tsuburaya's legacy with its mastery over the cinematic technique known as tokusatsu

And here is the synopsis of the currently airing Ultraman Omega
On an Earth where neither heroes nor kaiju exist, an alien suddenly falls from the sky. This Ultra's symbol is the red space boomerang he holds, the Omega Slugger, and his name means "ultimate."

"Omega" is an alien who has lost his memories. Taking human form and adopting the name "Sorato", he becomes interested in the life forms called "Earthlings" that he is encountering for the first time and attempts to understand them.

When a giant life form appears, amnesiac Sorato recalls a word—"kaiju". As these kaiju continue to appear before him, a sense of duty awakens in Sorato's subconscious. He transforms into "Ultraman Omega" and an intense, fast-paced fight unfolds.

The Earthlings, in turn, are grappling with encountering these gigantic life forms and the alien that fights with a red slugger for the first time, watching from various places and trying to understand what they are. Before long, Sorato and an ordinary young man—an alien and an Earthling, become friends. This ambitious work poses a question through these friends' resonating hearts; "Why does Ultraman protect the Earth?"

Now, is when they awaken.

Probably gonna list some of the future plans here, but I don't remember everything, but here's some that I do have saved in this smooth memory bank I call a brain:
  • Conceptual Manipulation Type 1 upgrade
  • Lifting Strength upgrade
  • Potential 3-C to 3-B scaling for Showa and Heisei Era characters
  • The effects of energy beams in the Ultra Series
  • Combat Skill Chainscaling
  • Ultra Series Respect Thread (Ultraman 1966 - Ultraman Omega)
  • Ultra Physiology revision
Hopefully this year is even half as popular as Orb's run

But yeah, have fun talking about big men in costumes

Welp, I never thought the verse would come this far, especially when the things we have now seemed 'impossible' and weren't even in anyone's line of thought.

I'm not good with words, but if anyone wants to ask about the verse or discuss it, feel free to do so here. We (Eddisher, Peter, Cutlery, and I) will do our best to be active, though we can't make any promises.

Anyway, some of the upcoming revisions I have in mind are:
  • The effects of energy beams in the Ultra Series
  • Combat Skill Chainscaling
  • Ultra Series Respect Thread (Ultraman 1966 - Ultraman Omega)

Last, I just wanna say... Happy New Year!

Posting to follow the new thread. Also you forgot to include the Ultra Physiology Page Revision among the list of upcoming CRTs.

In the future, yes. Right now, there's no real plan on making any

Figured I had to share the news in another thread (at least for those who haven't noticed there).

Some of us veterans from Gohan VS Zero are working for another blog here soon. Get ready when it releases some month, Ultra-fellas. Gecko's respect thread really seems to help in specific aspects.

We'll definitely have em, but not in the near future since the manga hasn't been translated to english.
damn but there someone translate it to thai which is My language and they translate all of them I might can help
when that time come just tell me then beside I read more than half of the story and I can tell the manga show feat more than statement and it's clear too
so it's not that complex to scale anyway

Oh, really? I didn't know there was a Thai version of the manga. Is there any important scaling info we should know about Story 0? Since I've only seen the visuals.

Unsurprisingly, even in the ULTRAMAN manga, Temperor remains an intergalactic terrorist. After transforming into Zetton, he nukes Tokyo with a One Trillion Degree Fireball. The results scale to Large Town level, which is pretty impressive.

Also, I have some news about Ultraman Theo, our 60th Anniversary Ultraman.

  • Theo's design shocked many who saw it, much like the unique designs of Blazar and Omega.
  • Unfortunately, Theo won't be getting a movie, just like Omega; instead, it will be replaced by the Ultraman 60th Anniversary film.
  • Several projects related to Zero that were originally planned for 2026 have been pushed back to 2027.

Hopefully Zandar Teio Roosevelt is peak, if Omega is a budget saving series, this one HAS to be crazy

I don't think so Exclude from other era their chain scaling isn't change except Taro will not be on par with Zoffy since it's pre-showa after all
beside scaling. . . it benefit us in vsb little but outside it however it will benefit us a lot especially those who not believe in tiering system which can be found any where
me include sometime

and the fact that Showa era manage to be galaxy level is because Jack chopping Vacuumon
now in this manga where there no technical issue from prop and suit so each ultra get to show their true potential
beside that the manga also cover some plot hole in it's era such as Leo & Astra back story how they become Ultraman and how their planet destroyed (this manga was suppose to be canon until Ultra Galaxy came)
while also do some justice to some characters such as Zoffy

Oh god, Bullton's gonna ruin our potential 1-A Galactus scaling

In the Fall of Ultraman, the last entry to Marvel Ultraman, we’ll see the Land of Light face off against Bullton’s army of dark Ultras.

So the middle looks like Magnificent Geed, the Red one looks like Camearra, the one Seven's fighting looks like Dark Killer. Can't see enough of the head for the two on the left, but the one Leo and Man's fighting gives me Tregear vibes, though the head is blocked by his big ass arm, so there could be some extra stuff on his head

OK seriously I don't expect Leo will here too cuz big alien martial art is cool but when pair with other heroes it just hilarious and cooler
imagine Galactus get rematch with ultra and Leo just pull nunchaku out of his ass

Come pay this thread a visit! 🐜

Finally made a thread about one of our central abilities, Supernatural Willpower. Come pay the thread a visit!

We made a top ten strongest characters list for every series on Toku Central, here's Man's top 10
  1. Zetton
  2. Zoffy/Man
  3. Man/Zoffy
  4. Bullton
  5. Mefilas/Baltan II
  6. Baltan II/Mefilas
  7. Keyla
  8. Keronia
  9. Geronimon
  10. Antlar
Feels weird to exclude the M87 Beam for Zoffy

Ehh if you guys want to count it than just go ahead. Not like anyone’s gonna stop you. I just didn’t like the idea of counting the M87 Beam as otherwise Zoffy would literally be #1 on most of the Showa top 10 list even if he barely makes a cameo appearance in most of them.

Fair enough, who even likes that bum anyway

On another note, how about we make a top 10 for Omega?
