DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Since the year is ending soon, what were y’all’s favorite blogs to come out this year? I think the stands outs for me were the Ryu vs Kenshiro and the Aku vs Hades blog.

I can tell you my least favorite: the ******* Deathwing vs Miraak blog.

Like, there's "Okay, uni+ Deathwing is a little wanky but I can see the vision" and then there's "Deathwing is immune to Dominate Undead so he resists Domination and he also scales to cosmology with these feats that aren't even cosmology-related".

It's a combination of wordy shit, nonsensical matchup(Alduin is RIGHT THERE), and watching legit BS get spouted.
 
All these blogs coming out lately makes me want to give it a try. Would have to pick a matchup that I'm interested in...

Riddler vs Layton: Great matchup but researching a DC character from the 40's on my own sounds like a nightmare
Asura vs Jagganoth: KSBD isn't finished yet
Caine vs The Narrator: TADC isn't finished yet, also analysing the Narrator sounds a bit much for a first blog

...maybe Bakugo vs Codel as a joke matchup? Need to think on this some more.

I know I have WoW pretty high compared to others, but that's because 5-B is pretty consistent lol
 
I know this is over two years late but I was rewatching Galactus vs Unicron and I never realized how weird of a line "Who better to portray a being who brings death to the universe than the man who gave birth to modern cinema". It's not a bad line by itself but without any context you have no idea who the **** Wiz is talking about. Unless you already knew who voiced Unicron in the movie then the line just blindsides you and I doubt the average person who watches Death Battle even knows who Orson Welles is and it's even less likely that they know what he looks like when they show footage of him.

This is also the same episode that claimed that Galactus made the Ultimate Nullifier despite Marvel revealing that it was the Watchers who made it months before the episode came out.
 
Iirc GalactusUnicron was another ep that took year hence why analysis might have been written in 2022 or even 2021 like FriezaMegatron.
 
It's also kinda why Galactus vs Unicron lacks the Tree of Life arguments that make Unicron 1-A, because the meta wasn't as widely popular as it was during the period the episode was researched.

Not that it would've changed much imo though Unicron definitely would've stood a better chance.

Has anyone ever made a list of the known pitches that were publicly posted? I don't mean that list of all the pitches we know that happened, I mean the pitches that you can actually watch the recordings of.

Ultimate Nullifier is what ultimately breaks the fight into Galactus' favor because Unicron has absolutely zero counter to that, and you can't even separate it from Galactus no matter what because it's a weapon so intrinsically tied to his character, otherwise I could kinda argue a stalemate.

Certainly doesn't help the UN scales way higher into the cosmology than Galactus himself does.
