Sonic General Discussion Zone Act 1: New Frontiers

So the 2025 Encyclopedia kind of contradicts itself with their usage of the word "supersonic", given this feat (right) would be Massively Hypersonic+ / Sub-Relativistic at worst.

Makes me think the usage of the word "supersonic" isn't exactly literal, it's like a disguise word for the lack of a better substitute to exactly describe how fast Sonic is.

Oh yeah, this is the new Sonic the Hedgehog: The Essential Guide, published quite recently, 23 October. I found about it just now.

It depends on the material. Sometimes it's very specific about referring to speeds Mach 1 or slightly above.

Its not necessarily wrong, terms like "Massively Hypersonic" or "Sub Relativistic" really only exist in powerscaling and saying either just "Hypersonic" or "Sub-Light" whoch are more normal terms doesn't roll off the tongue the same way as using his moniker as the supersonic hedgehog, like its not technically wrong either from a normie perspective like being MHS is just supersonic from a normal person's perspective just by a lot

I always interpreted the “Supersonic” statements to be a play on words because of Sonic’s name.

It certainly is its a clear play on his moniker as the "Supersonic Hedgehog" along with simply something being faster than sound to normal people just being defaulted to "supersonic" in people's minds
 
Looking at the preview of that guide and seeing Sonic Generations, it's still funny that literally nothing brings up the whole dimensional energy thing like it was just that forgettable and everyone else didn't know what Ian was writing 😭

But yeah a casual statement abt crossing the planet is pretty crazy considering how recent Sonic media has been aiming towards a more grounded Sonic. I might've said that before a few times but ehh

When I first read this my mind immediately pulled up every single instance of Sonic having to chase after Eggman in a ship.
 
There's something I want to test in CrossWorlds, but I need a second player. The game just Is Not giving me the one item I need to have, so I would need a second person to help me in a custom match to test this.
 
If anyone has video evidence of this then I won't need to test it I guess, but I want to see if the Dark Chao item works across worlds. Both in other universes (Dinosaur Jungle, Minecraft World, etc.) and across dimensional planes (Cyber Space) by having one player stay in Ocean View while the other goes into the CrossWorld and uses the Dark Chao item, or vise versa.
I don't have a way to record my gameplay though, so even in testing I wouldn't be able to supply evidence myself.
 
I know other people already mentioned this, but I also tested if Dark Chao would affect your entire inventory space. It does. I did manage to record a clip but I don't have any way of sharing it directly on VS Battles, so.
 
If it is I'm pretty sure it's construction alone would require Massively FTL+ speeds, even 2 years would land 1000.90367 c.

Perhaps there's more speed feats that could be gotten out of Sonic Drift 2, regarding Milky Way. But I'm not sure about it yet.

Random thought, could Alf Layla Wa Layla would qualify for some form of erasure? Ofc not space-time erasure as time still existed, but since Shahra, her ring, and assumingly everyone else just completely vanished until Sonic turned Darkspine and Shahra's ring appeared in his hand albeit broken with Shahra being able to talk to Sonic likely from that as a genie of the ring. Wondering since it'd be an additional erasure resistance for Sonic and also might add to a small analysis on the story of mine,,,,
While writing this I checked the profile and technically he is listed as an erasure user but yk

I don't know if it is a valid feat esp because the stage could've just had an opening that lets you see the stars, but at the same time it'd be VERY in-character for Eggman to do ngl

I am pretty sure none of the items are lap-dependent, but the game makes you catch up if you're too far behind with Omochao.
 
Don't mean this meanly or anything, but whenever we eventually do a CrossWorlds CRT and stuff, we should probably go ahead and talk about the locations of the game and how they work. I can picture there being some people using "simulation" to basically downplay every possible addition from the game. It's not wrong to see it like that, but making sure a CRT is prepared with that view in mind would be good, before launching one.

SO DIMENSIONAL ENERGY IS A FORCE THAT ENSURES SPACE-TIME EXISTS AND IF ITS CONSUMED THEN SPACE-TIME DOESN'T EXIST MEANING IT'S ERASED
