Object Show General Discussion Thread: New Friendly

The new episode just got announced, and already I've seen a lot of people give negative responses over the fact that it's yet another theatrical episode (Literally the 5th theatrical episode this year), even going on to question if jacknjellify is starting to become greedy. At the same time, however, this episode is heavily implied to be some multiverse episode based on the title name?

Multiverse? Bit of a long shot, but could they tie this into TPOT again, with Pencil being back in time?

She was sent to bfdi, not bfdia so... (unless they wanna be more inconsistant in lore).

Also have a theory where it's actually an alternative timeline made by One instead of the real "one".

Could be possible actually, especially given how she once showed Pencil a vision of her and her friends within a yellow grassfield in the BFB-TPOT artstyle despite how Pencil had been eliminated in BFB 2, the grassfield wouldn't turn yellow until TPOT 1, and Bubble and Ruby went to BFB.

Also: this episode is apparently going to be an hour long

Planning on making some Object Mayhem calcs soon and also properly fixing my BOTO calcs. I'll do this after my Happy Tree Friends speed calc is accepted and when I fully finish Object Mayhem.

Well, it was about time you were getting to finding this thread, as I've noticed you've been making various object show files behind my back without even getting me to check them first to ensure they're right and not missing anything. You should show me those profiles of yours you're making next time so I can suggest some things you can fix before you publish them.
Imagine if in 15 years, another batch of objects mess with this episode:

Damn, Aurora Borealis isn't here...

Well, at least Lithium's here!

I was planning on asking you to change anything but I thought it would be rude. Thanks for telling me. I have a beta Knife (II) pfp in progress.

Fr they had so much wasted potential they were my favorite out of the Natural cast

Apart from you needing to fix some formatting, the profile looks good. For the intelligence part, you can just leave it as "Average" without any parentheses explanation since it's pretty self-explanatory given how he hasn't shown many significant intelligence feats in the show that suggest he's dumb or smart.

Updated this, anything else to add or change?

Also unrelated but I was looking at the BOTO calcs and I have a question on something you said. You said "For the 3rd feat, you forgot to add the 2 at the left" I just want to know what this means since that confused me. Everything else I understand.

Also back then I got the length of any diagonal line wrong, thankfully I stopped doing this a long time back however I am going to have to redo the Toilet Speed feat but that's the only one aside for the BOTO calcs.

Apart from you needing to fix the format of the lifting strength section, it looks good. Oh yeah, Knife died when he was 13, so you might want to list that in his age section.
Added that, however I do have a question regarding the profiles of Bow, Bot, and Taco, as all 3 of them have "Low 7-B, possibly 7-A" on their profiles when every other II profile has "Low 7-B, possibly 7-B" on their profiles. I was wondering if this was an error or not or if there is something that makes them more powerful than the rest of the cast. This is why Ghost Knife's durability isn't currently on their however I will add it after this, since most of the stuff I was basing on Bow's pfp since they are both ghosts.

Man. One thing I hate about the BFDIxII tours is when people ask the ship related questions, I get liking ships, I ship Coinpin for example, but don't ask them when you can ask a much more interesting question relating to the lore for either shows. II is packed with a ton of interesting stuff that nobody knows same could be said about BFDI. Asking ship questions is so useless though because it's always some vague answer from the creators because they don't want to confirm or deny ships they say stuff like "I mean they are pretty close friends" when asked or something along the lines of that. So I don't even get the point in asking. Thankfully when I went to Chicago nobody asked any of those questions (atleast from what I remember)

Okay, so I know this show only has one (technically three, since it was split into parts) episode right now, but it's already one of my favorite object shows for the premise alone and I'm hyped we're FINALLY getting episode 2:

So I got to read the Seven's Secret Orb comic, and honestly...

I thought it was rather... okay. Not really on par with TPOT episodes, but it did have some chaotic (albeit grounded) moments in it. I just thought that the screentime felt very unbalanced with how certain characters die early in the comic and aren't seen again until the very last page. Some even went out very anticlimactically (IE. Flower being crushed by a rock or Gelatin being crushed by Spongy).

In regards to it being canon, I'm not quite sure actually. Firey, Leafy, and Teardrop are the only post-split contestants to not show up in the comic (Let alone get mentioned at any point) which implies that this is set after BFB 30 where Firey and Leafy had already left to look for their Dreamier Island while Teardrop had already left to go to TPOT, yet it doesn't really explain why Balloony is here in spite of the fact that he got himself accidentally launched into the space around the time when Teardrop and Profily were on their way to TPOT. Maybe you can argue that the entire comic took place during the part when Balloony left the beach to go say goodbye to everyone, but it'd be really weird that everything would happen in the span of a few seconds. We don't have any confirmation is this is supposed to be canon, but if it is, it could give new abilities to certain characters.

Place your bets: what's this gonna be?

Must be TPOT 21.

I assume that the plot will either focus on Pencil trying to relive everything throughout the entirety of BFDI, or the Announcer going back to his home planet with Balloony after the latter accidentally entered his spaceship, or even both.

Also, this might not be a competition episode since everyone sans Grassy and Winner is still dead and can't be recovered due to the WRC's keypad being broken, so unless they somehow find the same keyboard that Price Tag used to unknowingly recover Winner to recover everyone, they might stay dead.

I was also wondering, how exactly will the elimination be handled? Nobody even announced the voting save for some white text that silently appeared over the black screen, so I'm curious to know how they would get the data from the voting especially with TV (The only one who can store the voting data) dying early in the challenge. In fact, would they even count the votes since TV unofficially hosted TPOT 19 without Four's consent?

Keep in mind that TV was indirectly responsible for causing One to get Two and Four's powers because he made everyone kill each other for Pencil to destroy the WRC and become the last one alive to the point where One would trick Pencil into giving her her powers. And all of this was because of pettiness.

A fourth installment of the Total Firey comics.

On a more serious note, likely TPOT 21 as BFDIA just released an episode and usually TPOT gets released after BFDIA.
It would likely fit more with the Announcer being there with the old grass and New Friendly playing as Pencil was sent back to the start of BFDI.

I'm pretty sure that Announcer statement is disconnected from the actual episode since he wouldn't says "I'm back" at the beginning of bfdi?

Probably more of a forshadowing that he gonna appear in the episode tbh

Yeah I know thats kinda what im talking about

I doubt they can make an epsiode rn that focus on a single thing, technically the flash-back wasn't really related to the current situation but now they gonna make a balanced pacing including such as the eliminated contestants getting out (they can possibly end in the equation playground tbh), One's adventures, all contestants in X side ect...

And someone in a yt comment said that Announcer was actually killed by One at Q&A, but I doubt it's real so

Somehow, a part of me thinks that this is not TPOT 21 but rather either IDFB 2 or an entire Season 1 remaster due to the font of this one, considering how throughout their promotions, they have never said that this episode was TPOT 21, only vaguely calling it a "new BFDI episode".

They have done this before back when we all thought that TPOT 7 or IDFB 2 was coming out in September 1, 2023 due to the lack of specifics on what season this was referring to as well as the font of the teaser, but it actually turned out to be BFDIA 6 out of nowhere when people least expected it.

I know they confirmed IDFB would return in 2026 (it was mentioned in a TikTok post apparently), and I guess it would make sense to get it done sooner rather than later depending on how much they wanna do with it (they already confirmed it wouldn't be another "it came out ten years after it was supposed to" situation like BFDIA 6 was), though admittedly I'm not sure it'd come before BFDIA has finished? Then again, there are so many unknowns here, it's only getting harder and harder to tell...

IT IS NOT A NEW CURRENT SEASON'S EPISODE ITS COMPLETELY NEW

Well, that's a way to fool everyone into believing that some big episode was for one of the seasons was coming. We've had the Shift duology from last year to serve as the 15th anniversary specials, but the 16th anniversary special is just a new season out of nowhere whose episode is pretty short? It's definitely a huge f*ck you to all of the fans who thought that it would either be BFDIA 24, IDFB 2, or TPOT 21.

With all that said, for the episode itself....
It was actually... alright. I do appreciate the fact that they're taking a new direction with the contestants lineup by featuring a lot of newcomers we've never seen before, and the humor and animation style was pretty much on our with modern BFDIA for a season meant to take place in the middle of Season 1. I also like how Gooseworx returned to voice Rose which really goes to show how much the creators of the show are friends with her all because of a Tumblr post that had Gooseworx state that Caine was partially inspired off of Four, and I also like how TomSka came back yet again to voice someone in the show (Ruler).

That said... it's not without flaws. The episode felt too short especially when comparing it to the usual length of modern BFDI episodes in the 2020's, not to mention how I felt like the pacing was just too fast to the point where we just hardly get much of an introduction to everyone before the first challenge already started in literally a minute into the episode. If they had just spent time slowing down the pace to introduce everyone properly, then maybe this episode could've been better.

Honestly, yeah I agree, I do feel like we should've gotten a bit more knowledge on some characters before heading onto the competition since it's good to actually know what their motives are. I do like that instead of bringing luxury and happiness to others the prize is trapping enemies in a horrible place. It's also cool that we get to see Adam staring as another character other than Nickel. (And also Goose returning as Rose) I do wonder how the "Vote for your favorite character" aspect is going to come into play as I have heard that the entire season has been written already due to no need for vote waiting and the purge style elimination. It is sad that a ton of people are complaining about it due to wanting another season's episodes, but I do get the frustration.
