Hi there! I’m, for lack of a better word, very green here (as in just made my account green), but I’ve been following you guys’ page for almost 2 years now! Some time last year I did try to make an account, but got very confused at the process and eventually gave up

But thanks to the help of a user here, Out’o’Sound, I finally managed to wrap my head around it!

For starters, I just wanna say that I REALLY admire all of your work, your love for this franchise, and your dedication to keeping the Sonic verse’s pages well looked after!

Second, while I may not be the best scaler around, I’m so excited to finally be able to join in with discussions, and I do hope to contribute wherever I can!

And on that note, I’d like to provide my first contribution (assuming you haven’t seen this already)!

I have a bunch of questions I’d love to ask! But I think starting out with maybe 1 or 2 for tonight would be better than just clustering em all into one long comment

First question: Do you guys consider the Violet Void in TSR to have hammer space manipulation through robbing racers of their rings when they’re in close proximity to them? (Just a detail I’m curious about from my 100% journey of the game)

Second question (and I know this one is far more obscure): Do you guys know about the Aquis Badnik, specifically in Lost World? Those little buggers are absolute menaces! And I have the video proof to show as such (don’t actually know if you can post videos here)

Baby steps is all I can say. Many things may fly over your head that are taken in stride here simply because of us being around longer, but your knowledge will increase in time! As often as people make fun of Vs Battles, it genuinely can be a valuable asset in learning integral things such as philosophy, logic, and math. That is, if the individual cares enough to pursue deeper applications of these things to their favorite franchises.

And thank you for the JP/ENG Dialogue!

As a small question I have to you, do you happen to browse and post on Sonic-related things on Reddit? I only ask because your language reminds me of another individual on there.

Sweet! Probably a detail that flew over most people’s heads as not a lot of people have actually played the game (including me until I decided to 100% a couple weeks ago)

Ohhhh, then you’re gonna love this little seahorse! He’s actually got hammerspace manipulation as well! Except unlike the Violet Void, which gradually steals rings by keeping close to a character, this little guy swoops in from the top rope (literally from off screen) and sucks up ALL of your rings in an instant! And best part about him is, he’s a robot, he’s mass produced, there could be hundreds of them flying around just causing chaos (no pun intended)!

Btw, how do you the separation thing? Like where you choose a part of a comment to respond to?

When you hit reply to somebody, you hit the enter key and it breaks up what you're quoting.

I think I’ve seen people getting miffed at your questions a couple of times, something about you taking doubts about the scaling and fully believing them (which I don’t think is true personally)? Or something along those lines

Let me tell you, the amount of times I’ve seen a matchup with Sonic where he could absolutely beat the character he’s facing, and in the comments I just see “Game Sonic couldn’t win, but Archie Sonic is a whole other story.” infuriates me to no end! The day Game Sonic surpasses Archie Sonic’s power is the day I can die happy!

Game Sonic already surpasses Archie imo fr. But that's more out of spite, tbh. Tired of Archie glazers who don't read the comic or take stuff out of context and reach so hard to get a tier. The amount of people I hear say Archie is Boundless makes me sick.

Mainly due to Shahra sacrificing herself to save Sonic, but I think a possible resistance can remain. I think this because Sonic was written to be the sacrifice (heavily implied in English, possibly confirmed in Japanese but translations differ,) in the book, since this was an actual story Sonic got added onto, he really shouldn't have been able to do anything to stop it, even Shahra was leading him towards it as much as she hated to do so. But then Sonic reached out to Shahra, to tell her to do what she truly believed was right, which led to Sonic not dying. I might be trying too hard to justify it but look man Sonic without SOME KIND of resistance to fate is WEIRD

Also we gotta talk about Sonic and Shahra's friendship omfg i love them I've written a good bit about them with my extremely limited meda analysis ability

I usually don't like commenting here, but I have to say you're awesome for saying this. I feel Shahra and Sonic's bond (and Secret Rings overall) is underrated. I like SEGA team exploring deeper topics like abusive relationships in it a lot.

I'd like a little more than a port. Smth similar to what they did for Sonic Generations except for Secret Rings and Black Knight. Maybe try connecting the games with additional story content, and add a third story book game (Like Shadow Generations got added to Generations). And touch up mechanics and gameplay a lil bit. Maybe add a little bit of new content into the old games.

I don't mind the Greek Mythos idea, but I feel like it's a bit oversaturated. Seems kinda weird to go from story myths like arthur's tale and the 1001 stories of the Arabian nights to a religious mythos. But if Sonic were put into it, he should go through something similar to Hercules/Heracles story.

Maybe the Epic of Gilgamesh.

I also wouldn't mind SEGA making up their own unique mythos just for Sonic's universe to explore. Sounds like a fun challenge.

A couple things I love abt it:

• Sonic is pretty much everything Erazor is not to Shahra. Sonic cares for her, he sees her as an equal and tells her NOT to call him "master," and even when Shahra almost betrayed him, Sonic didn't say "Don't give him the World Rings!" Sonic told her "Do what you truly think is right!" As he respects her as a person, he's a true friend to her, Erazor could never.
• Two notable scenes becoming role reversals, first the handkerchiefs and then Sonic taking the Flame of Judgement for Shahra. Like how Sonic took the Flame of Judgement for her, Shahra took Erazor's attack for him. Then, when Sonic brought her back, He gave her a mountain of handkerchiefs like how she did for him with his cold, letting her naturally process her emotions. This is especially good because Sonic canonically dislikes tears, but he recognizes they're also needed, and he didn't even bother asking Shahra if she could just wish away her grief.
• Sonic when he's being a chaotic goblin and Shahra suffering
• Sonic's own fight and defiance against fate making Shahra realize she can do that as well, and stand up to her abuser and ultimately lead to his defeat
• In the final fight, Sonic and Shahra no longer just fight fate, they decide to write it themselves.

• No Prima guide nor Encyclospeedia (especially not the prima guide, those are too questionable sadly)
• Keeping the first phase's "dimensional anchoring" in mind
• No previous games nor future games/media and no hypertimeline thing
• Keeping the "space-time rift" in mind
