FC/OC Random Tournament! (16/16)

Round 1 has been completed so I've spun the wheel again!

Round 2 will be a UFC Match

LOL, I didn't expect to get another one of the physical activities right after the other, but at least they're getting knocked out early.

Conditions:
  • The statistics mentioned above (AP, Dura, Speed, and Lifting Strength) are equalized down to baseline peak human levels. This notably does not include your stamina.
  • Whitelisted abilities (Most of this is already made clear in the OP): Martial Arts, Analytical Prediction, Instinctive Reactions, Enhanced Senses, Extrasensory Perception, Information Analysis, Body Control, Pressure Points, Bodily Weaponry, ETC.
    • Things related to your physical physiology aren't restricted. This includes things like Self-Sustenance, Inorganic Physiology, Underwater Breathing, etc. But not anything magical or non-physical like having the ability to breathe fire and stuff.
  • You will be fighting in a UFC octagon. It is 30 feet or 9.1 meters in diameter. You must stay in the ring at ALL times.
  • All characters are given the standard 12 week training camp with world class elites to get themselves in shape for the task at hand. This means getting formal training in martial arts, general physical activity, etc. However, they are given no outside help beyond this and they also aren't aware of who the opponent will be in the fight.
  • The bout will be a championship match, which means they'll be going for 5 five-minute rounds! They are given 1 minute of rest between rounds. For a total of 29 minutes!
  • To win, you can knock out the opponent, secure a submission, or win by decision! The latter requires you to score more points in the rounds. Effective striking, grappling, aggression, and cage control are key factors in judges' decisions.
  • No equipment is allowed. You are put in standard wear: shorts, fingerless gloves, and mouthguards. Women get a sports bra.
  • Your character is given a run-down of the UFC rules. You obviously can't hit the groin, back of the head, spine, etc. No biting or hair pulling. No headbutts. No throwing the player outside of the ring. Etc.
  • Weight and gender aren't taken into consideration, even though they normally would be. Everyone is at the same physical level, so this should be fine.
So, more than anything, this is a test of your characters combat skill, battle IQ, and general physicality. Potentially also how well they're able to prepare and utilize their training camp.

If we're still taking round idea's, i've got a few.
  • Race to escape from a maximum security prison
  • Race to beat minecraft
  • Write the best story

Round 3 time...

The challenge will be a Table Tennis Match

3 physical activities in a row. I guess the thing about randomness is that sometimes it feels way less random than it should.

  • Your characters will be playing the game on a standard table, which is 9 feet long and 5 feet wide.
  • Your characters are given 30 days to learn the game and have access to elite level training.
  • You must score 11 points to win with a 2 point lead (Ex: 11 vs 9). You win a point if the opponent misses the ball, fails to legally return the ball, hits the ball off of the table, hits the ball twice, etc. You can read the rules more thoroughly presented here. There is no limit to how long one match can go on for.
  • This will only be 1 match. I don't think doing a best of 5 changes anything.
  • No equipment allowed. Characters are given a paddle to hit the ball.
This time it is another test of physicality mainly, along with adaptability, visual acuity, general skill and technique, etc.

The semifinals went by super quickly, so now it's time for the finals.

THANK GOODNESS IT WASN'T SOCCER.

This is actually extremely interesting. I wonder what the arguments will be for this one.

Final Challenge: Convince Your Opponent to Forfeit

Conditions:
  • Your characters are placed in an indestructible white room. The only exit from this room is through a door that will only open should one be fully willing to exit.
  • Your characters are told that the last person remaining in this room will get whatever is most valuable to them. Your characters are completely convinced of this fact prior to being placed here.
  • Your characters are given only the most basic essentials needed to live: food, water, and a bed. Beyond that, there is only each other.
  • The goal of the game is to get the other character to willingly leave this room, thereby forfeiting the prize.
This should be a test of a character's personality, social influence, rhetoric, and ability to reason.

The final match has concluded and the winner has been decided.

Congratulations to @VNova and his character Sakura Izayoi on winning the tournament!

Also GG to @Rayfire and his character Asuna Kamakura for getting second place.

I'll probably do another of these in the future. I thought the concept was really fun and there's still many more ideas I could come up with. It's nice to have matches that aren't just killing each other, where you can actually go into other aspect's of the character, like personality, physicality, experience, knowledge, skills, etc. Very fitting for FC/OC imo.

Btw, if y'all want to put the matches on the profiles, you can do that.

FC/OC does not have rules like VSBW. I personally could not care less if things like stat equal matches or non-fights matches are listed. I honestly think it's a big missed opportunity for VSBW that they insist on not having those recognized on pages.

would now be a good time to discuss opportunities I think are missed by FC/OC or should that stay in the thread about deleting people's pages :)
