DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

I'm not gonna make a habit of posting about it and spamming the thread, but I just wanted to say that I'm on episode 6 of Gurren Lagann. I'm having a fun time, but man, this series is very horny. Like, comically so, sometimes.

I'm not complaining, mind you. It's kinda funny / charming in a juvenile sort of way. And I get it, it makes sense why it's like that.

How much exactly does "very" means? Like how many of these moments happen on an episode?

I was thinking on starting to watch Gurren Lagann on my free time, but i personally am far from a fan from these types of moments

Yeah the first couple episodes of Gurren Lagaan are pretty tame and comical in tone, but I think it works to the show's benefit.

Though just you wait till you get to episode 8, then you'll experience a severe case of tone whiplash.

I haven't kept count 🤷‍♂️

You're bound to get at least couple... risqué shots per episode. It's no worse than any other 'classic' anime, really. It's just not something I expected.

It's really not that bad, the show is still a lot of fun. But if you have a low tolerance for stuff like that, I totally get it.

Just go in with the understanding that this very much a coming of age story about two teenage boys, made for teenage boys, and you should have a good time.
 
Scorching hot take but I slightly prefer Ghostspawn to SimonKyle

Having your final clash happen with your main chorus over it gives you a ton of brownie points in my book. And the best chorus in Spiral of Emotion happens likely fifty seconds into the fight and we never hear it again.

Its also helps that Hell's Angels may be a top 10 track for me

Funny y'all bring up Bleach - I've actually updated my Xeno JRPG MU spreads with a lot of Bleach characters (despite dropping the series at the back end of the Arrancar arc when accounting for filler). Good MUs, too, but my god has the series overstayed it's welcome...

Oh well, stay tuned for the update.

I feel like the answer is yes, considering all the other gamma-mutates running about Marvel, and how many other hulks there are. If so, GxK: New Kingdom gave Godzilla the handy ability of incorporating others' DNA into his own.

It's non-canon, and it only came out last month, but we could end up seeing this again.

This was specifically the result of a blood transfusion and I'm pretty sure this comic came out long after research started or possibly finished. Regardless, I don't think they'll account for this crossover
