DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

The first genshin impact character being that one, when other characters are more requested, imagine you do dragon ball with chi chi as first rep over others like goku, vegeta, etc, basically what traveler is
Thank you for putting it in terms my Dragon Ball-rotted brain can understand. Yeah, in that case, I totally get it.

Also I think the amendment to the thumbnail is kinda goofy. Looks like the PS1 Memory Card splash art with a differing saturation:

As someone who firmly believes that Kratos vs Asura was accurate in how the fight would go, I will say that the way they handle the reasoning sucked.

For example: why scale Kratos to Helios by showing the scene of him blocking the latter's light with his hand? It'd been much more accurate to scale him to the Sisters of Fate, who can micromanage the threads of fate which are explicitly stated to span all of life and time, or Hercules who has more explicit feats of reacting to and blocking Helios' light. Another example is how they went through these loops in order to scale Kratos to Ragnarok instead of simply scaling him to Thor, whose fight with Jörmungandr shook Yggdrasil down to its roots and splintering the tree (which is confirmed to have happened according to post game dialogue).

So it's like DB chose the most nonsensical ways to scale Kratos to where they had him at instead of the most straightforward.

This was so cool.

Personally, I felt like Kyle's build diversity was a bit lacking. Sure, the symbolic drill clash is cool, but I wish it had been saved for the finale. A giant universe-sized mecha Superman is cool, but I feel like he could have done something much cooler and fleshed out each ring's aspects better.

I'm happy with the finale, although I do feel bad that the show has characters killing each other even when it's not necessary. Simon literally treats Kyle like a fellow rival, he definitely doesn't act like he wants to kill him. Kyle also compliments Simon and says he's a cool dude. But then he disintegrates into atoms, which is very inconsistent. I understand that this is a DEATH battle, but I remember at least 1 episode where the fight ended in a knockout.

The next fight is just... Who needs it? If in Mahito vs. Shigaraki we could see how the biggest asshole gets it in full, then here there are just two cartoons. Moreover, Tom is a respectable gentleman who does his job, and Kayote is an embittered bastard who is 99% going to lose this fight.

With each match, the chance to see Kaneki vs. Eren, Ohma vs. Baki and Isaac vs. Gordon is getting smaller...

For context: the reason why Tom vs Wile is happening is because that MU won the Tournament of Champions, which was a contest DB ran last year (?) that would give the fans a chance to have a heavily requested MU become an official episode.

Apparently due to Rooster Teeth getting shuttered and DB scrambling to keep the show going, Tom vs Wile was delayed till now.

I think this episode should have aired 11 years ago. It's not that relevant now.

Just noticed the thumbnail for the OST is pretty much the ending of the fight. Simon breaks through the source wall and then inherits Kyle's ring + status as THE lantern.

Edit: Some people say he would turn away the offer, since he hates authority and does not lust for power, specially when it comes from external sources. But imo he likely would. Simon has taken responsability and the burden of those he killed without fail. When Lord Genome died, Simon became humanity's supreme commander in his place, wich involved being a politician and doing a lot of paperwork + Retiring Gurren Lagan, this alone shows he's not just some irreverent rebel who only does what he wants.
Same thing with Anti-Spiral, as once he was killed, Simon also promised to keep the entire Cosmos in peace + Avoid abusing Spiral Power, even when it could be used to revive Nia. If Simon killed Kyle and recognized his role was important to the universe he would 100% take his place even if it meant having to give up his freedom, since that's what a real man would do.

I mean to be fair, the fact Tom vs Wile won the tournament to begin with does show that there's plenty of interest from the community to see it become a reality.

Also it not being relevant is rather interesting to say given that Tom & Jerry and Looney Tunes are some of the most universally beloved and iconic cartoons of all time. Like if Scooby Doo vs Courage can rake in over three million views, so can something like Tom vs Wile.
