DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

I really like how DB! keeps track of who’s the calculable fastest character in their series so far

I don’t think Simon will be topped anytime soon at all in that regard
Iirc there was like one Touhou calc in the wiki that was higher than that and involved Amithaba. But even then our calc was nowhere as high as DB's.

Really going for Sonic hate huh.

Well at least its Archie, boring one who didnt get hype for its story rather pure VS hype and false aura of Ultra Sonic lol

Layers in Outerversal and beyond is bit silly.
Ngl Archie Sonic comics are either boring or garbage, like only 1% of stuff is neat and I'm being generous.

Eeeeh its like 50% maybe 60% of Archie being at least fine? Counting all of Ian's run since it was at worst passable.

...No arguments for Archie's midlife crisis tho lol

Oh yeah the way they described GLs in this episode blows even max wank Alien X (26-D) out of the water in both stats and hax, Ben should fight someone else
tbh don't think Ben has any other options being real here
jaden exist but origin already doing it and i think they be doing other ben 10 reps before touching on ben again
I want it because I want to see Ben 10 fan suffer. Get the rematch so he can get washed.
ngl i want it because ignoring dumb fanbases the og fight didn't do the mu justice and i feel db can do it all better now than before

HOLY SHIT THIS IS SICK

IDGAF DB fed goku three times to clark and DB fans were happy over the third fight given it did goku justice unlike the last one
a mu this cool deserves to have a genuine cool fight with a worthy ending
I mean, it’d be funny, but besides that not much else they can expand on

Just returned from watching the video, and personally, I'm quite shocked and impressed, to be honest. This episode has definitely broken all records.

Not only did Gurren Lagann manage to take Spongebob’s throne for the fastest calculated character, and not only did they directly acknowledge the existence and concept of Dimensional Tiering, but a DC Herald actually lost a fight against a character who isn’t from Marvel or any other comic book universe (Super Friends Aquaman doesn't count).

Besides that, both the prelude and the animated fight were pure quality, om the same tier as Bowser vs Eggman. I can’t fully comment on the accuracy of the result, but they did explain it in a way that made sense (cough Asura cough VS cough Kratos cough).

Easily 9/10.

Also, next time is Wily vs Tom, another fight I’m really excited to see, just to find out how they handle a matchup where both characters have Toon Force. Hope this time they don't use any crossover scaling as cop out like Scooby vs Courage.

I liked the episode overall (I'm happy Simon won even if I disagree with it, at least, with the way they described it), but honestly, the fight wasn't that great, in my opinion. The final clash and ending were fantastic, but the rest of it was pretty weirdly paced, and the fight was pretty short overall.

The analyses were the best parts, in my opinion. They nailed everything on that front (at least, in terms of their character).

Again, we're talking Tier 0 here. I'm aware there's a distinction between 1-A and High 1-A, but Simon here seemed to be described as if he were above that.

No, what they described is not even close to Tier 0 (at least, how we describe it). Tier 0 here on the wiki is literal omnipotence.

Also, considering Simon just defeated the strongest Lantern with the LE (albeit unmastered) with his own power and then got chosen by the Ring, wouldn't it be kinda like Naruto trying to lend Chakra to the Kurama? Like would he be the one charging the lanterns and taking ION's place?
It should be noted that when Simon powers up into the STTGL, it looks like he absorbs the Spectrum blasts (and as it ends with "Choose Life", White Lantern + Source power) that Kyle shot at him to manipulate his emotions. Meaning that if Simon takes the Ring, he probably is in the same unique position Kyle is, as a person who the Source (and Spectrum) is intrinsically tied to and putting his power through it. Which empowers that entire firmament of the whole Cosmology, since the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum is one of the 7 Key Components that make up the Bedrock of Creation, alongside the Dimensional Superstructure, the Collective Unconscious, the Godsphere/Magic, the Speed Force, etc.

EDIT: Essentially, Simon becomes not just Ion, but every Spectrum Entity/Deity and serves as an INFINITE BATTERY and SUPERCHARGER for their powers, alongside granting each access to his now Source-Spiral Energy, or granting them all the mathematical truth of Life is worth living.

Which is incredibly ironic. The Spiral Nemesis was about how an overabundance and use of Spiral Power would end the Cosmos, and Simon--Through Kyle--Is granted the perfect means to prove the Anti-Spirals wrong and lead the world into ULTIMATE paradise, as he said he would when the Cosmos was entrusted to him. It fulfills the prophecy and breaks past it, which is exactly what Simon (and Kyle) are as characters.
