I may've posted this thread too soon. If the blatant cosmology stuff isn't enough, the Necronomicon he uses is blatantly stated to have destroyed a universe and is shown destroying a planet in the AoD comics.

It does, quite a bit actually. The night he got caught is completely different and the reason he was allowed to go free is also completely different.

These discrepancies are probably because Freddy himself directs the episodes. So, he gave himself a cooler death. Interestingly, the films themselves retcon his death a little. OG nightmare says they surrounded the warehouse with gasoline and watched it burn, FvJ has them throw molotovs at him.
