DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

If you're going to read the IDW Sonic run, there are two specific stories from said comic.

One is Reflections, a one shot comic that acts as a borderline philosophical story on Metal Sonic's mentality and this duality of acknowledging that he isn't real vs thinking he's the true Sonic. And the other story is Scrapnik Island by Daniel Barnes, genuinely one of the best written stories in the Sonic franchise as a whole in my opinion.

I do want to say that the first couple issues of the IDW run are pretty slow and, in my opinion anyway, kind of boring. But if you're able to get past the first several issues, it starts to get really good and picks up pretty quickly.

I mean in fairness: Death Battle has used some information and calcs here on VBW when it comes to their own researching, and terms that VBW is known for like Outerversal are used pretty widely on the likes of YouTube and other forums like Reddit and such when the topic of power scaling is being discussed.

Now is it as popular as Death Battle? Probably not, but I'd argue it has more influence than what you're claiming.

If this site so irrelevant, why are you seething over Sonic stats for literal weeks now? Honestly, you confirm every single bias I have for Death Battle fans and the fact they only have their show to confirm their bias and nothing else. Your sheer toxicity makes me wonder if the Mario downgrades weren't completely deserved if you're supposed to represent them.

Just to point as a curiosity, Donner is the German word for "thunder", also the name of Thor in Old High German. If you see the Ring of the Nibelungs, Thor is called explicitly Donner. The "s" is also the genitive. All in all, Donners Tag would literally be "Thor's day".

He argued the reason Roshi doesn't use his MAX Power form is because it's horribly inefficient (requires a lot of charge up and quickly drains stamina), ergo statements that suggest Roshi can't beat Tien/King Piccolo shouldn't scale them to his MAX Power form

Also used the "King Piccolo struggled to destroy a city" meme argument

It isn't ironic and you know it, this wiki is an irrelevant site, while DB is a successful show that gains the attention of millions, and the analysis and presentation here would never compare to the animated fights in Death Battle, especially in quality

This is why I just chose my own opinions that work for me. Because no matter what in the realm of VS? People are gonna be of inconsistent quality.
 
I don't know how to articulate this properly, but it's like: are we forgetting that in the actual episode itself, Death Battle acknowledged that there are scenarios where Eggman could beat Bowser and we're considered equal to each other at their absolute cosmic peaks? I can't even be mad about the results, despite rooting for Eggman, because of stuff like that.

Not to mention that I'm a Mario and Sonic fan. So either way, two of the best villains in gaming history got to duke it out and I'm happy about that.

That would be the most sensible and reasonable course of action, but the Sonic goons are quick to rely on this site because they know that people don't believe in idiotic arguments like 5D to 7D Sonic and multiversal and infinite to beyond base characters

Which is perfectly fine with me, I want to add. They acknowledged the scenarios where Eggman can beat Bowser, but Bowser wins more times than not. A reasonable conclusion without saying that Bowser stomps Eggman in every single scenario, I want to stress.

There's ways of disagreeing with the wiki without being needlessly antagonistic and mocking to those who put in a lot of time and effort into doing research to justify the stats of Sonic on the wiki.

Do I disagree with several things on here? Yes, I for one don't agree with Base Sonic being infinite in speed, but I'm not going to belittle those who put in the work to pass that through on here. Disagree as much as you want to, don't be an ass about it.
