DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

"Why didn't Metal Sonic use his data copy?"

I am intrigued to hear where you'll end up placing Altair. Will you place her higher than Universal+ and Relativistic+ like vsbw or not?

Unrelated but every site other than VSBW seems to place Altair really high. Which is weird to me, I don't remember her anime being crazy at all.

I am also wondering if you'll make Yukari stomp Altair or nah? I guess I'll read it once you release the blog, if you end up doing so.
Probably doing ground-up research for both, just to be safe. The Re:Creators anime makes at least three or so statements about Altair creating infinite universes and infinite stories, which is very much a case for 2-A scaling here afaik. As for Yukari, her Boundary Manipulation is missing a few things index-wise on this site, like being able to hasten the cycle of entropy by destroying boundaries. Though the latter will likely come after the Chaos Manip revision passes.

Aside from VSBW indexing, it'll better to start from the ground up to get a better framework of what's at play anyhow. I'll likely upload an early draft of the blog in the touhou discussion channel when I can.

Did anyone notice than one koopa in the background literally praying for his life when the Death Egg was about to fire? That little touch cracked me.
Also, I realized Bowser didn't breath fire even once. He did spit meteors, but not his signature flames, which is kinda ironic.

There's so many little touches like that (And it's insane because apparently the whole thing was animated by a single person). Also yeah, didn't really notice it until you pointed it out but it is weird Bowser didn't really breath fire. Closest we got was the meteors like you said and the rainbow mouth beam he shot at Metal Sonic.

Egg head needs a game dealing with ghosts and some sort of transmutation defense if he ever wants a rematch
Rise of the Eisps shows Eggman has Wisp Capsules that contain Jade Ghosts, which have layered intangibility due to their phasing state passing through Metal (who has NPI). He CAN deal with ghosts.

But iirc certain Boos have 2 layers of intangibility so those still escape Eggman's standard capsules

You gotta check the sonic discussion thread, theuser is dooming all over the place, spouting 'bout how this ultra fella down plays the shit out of the sonic multiverse.
So much copium, so little time, wouldn't you agree?

But it's expected for a Sonic thread to be salty about the outcome. They're Sonic fans, they're gonna shill their guy.
That's not fair.

For weeks, several individuals in this thread mocked him for his guess that most of the arguments for Bowser winning in the Death Battle were from Ultraguy despite it being "from a year ago". But he was absolutely correct, many of the post-analysis and black box reasonings were from Ultraguy's ramblings on Discord.

From that perspective, User was vindicated and right all along. The majority of Sonic fans here are happy, let's not harp on the few who aren't to make them feel worse when we knew not everybody would be satisfied.

Instead of stalking me, you could've just replied to me instead of shit talking on another thread I explicitly said I was going to unfollow. What a creep. But Death Battle fans thrive on people's saltiness to fuel their show, so this isn't surprising.

As long as they aren't being toxic to those who agree with the ep, let people be mad.

Mario and Sonic have a fierce ass rivalry, their fans do not like each other whatsoever. It's unrealistic and unfair to expect no disappointment when it comes to how heated these types of discussion get.

This episode is going to be or already has been largely well received, so those who are disappointed are already a minority, there is no need to pick on them for what could be reasonabe concerns.

I've been pissed at Death Battle before, I've been there.

Had a night to rest on it.

My main gripe is they used Dr. Starline's view of Dr. Eggman to seriously trivialize the complexity to his character as if Starline was correct despite him dying as a testament to pushing his luck. Let me rephrase.

They claim Dr. Starline's view of Dr. Eggman is correct, him being short-sighted and a sloppy planner... when the summit of Dr. Starline's arc was trying to claim the Eggman Empire for his own and literally failing because Eggman out-planned him like 3 times in the span of one comic (IDW Issue 50). They didn't even acknowledge Eggman's own statement of taking it easy on Sonic because of their rivalry. That made me genuinely face-palm and is by far my biggest gripe with the episode.
