Kirby General Discussion Thread (fun edition)

certainly not. could be a mistranslation or it could be sth else. Dream world could also be a reference to dreamland
Another translation says this:

On the Day of Judgement, the Dreaming Bird of Sukhavati will come flying from Another Dimension. A Land of Dreams, a Land of The Underworld… one wonders which dimension he’ll go travelling next. Amplifying the power inherited from the white knight daily, that power is finally made into his own. Now, welcome the dusk… of the Day of Judgement by the black Paradise Butterfly who has manifested its true power!
Similar but different

Another translation says this:

Similar but different
Also it notes how it's called a Land of Dreams instead of Dream World, so yeah i don't think that's evidence for them being universes, specially when the evidence is vague.

I've seen this one scan being thrown around to say that dreams are universes in Kirby, but is it true?
I have seen it a lot too and it's nonsense. The text tells us that some dimensions are "dream worlds", period, it doesn't tell us the following:
  • If all dreams are these dream worlds.
  • If there can be dream worlds that doesn't exist due to being people's dreams.
  • If these dream worlds are a type of dimension or if they exist due to being people's dreams (Granted, the latter was likely, but by now it's more likely if they can turn their dreams into pocket realities like Fecto Forgo, who has the ability to do that)
    • If they do, if that happens on its own or if people's own powers make that happen (Again, because of Fecto Forgo this is now more likely)
  • If these dream worlds are real, 3-D realities, or fiction one may travel to via Immersion (The ability enter into fiction).
  • If these dimensions are universe-sized, which there are standards for. Not all dimensions are universe-sized if that needs to be said.
You will find a lot of circles in Vs Debates where a lot of cringe like this is thrown around where no one disagrees with anything and claiming power is too much of a priority, the best you can do is ignore it.

I have figured out what the next Kirby game needs: TIME HAX.

1. Time shenanigans would make for a fun Kirby game.
2. Possible "infinite universes/timelines" stuff.
3. Kirby with time hax would honestly be pretty cool.

We gotta get Kirby some Acausality hax, some of that 2-A stuff via "infinite timelines", you know, all the stuff that time hax gave franchises like Dragon Ball and Sonic.

So... this happened, as a result the start of 5-A is at 3.8 Yottatons instead of 2.7
I began to check the verses that mattered to me even a little to see if it affects them or not, and I found that the "Mo~Pupu! manga" version of the characters scale this
3.29 is now 5-B, not 5-A

Can somebody change that for those profiles? We also need a calc for Sectonia destroying Popstar in that manga.

The changes for the canon profiles are going a tiny bit faster since I finished the Star Allies profiles, but it will still take some time.

It seems like I should repost this here:

Nintendo is now being harsher on videos that repost things like tournaments, gameplay sequences, trailers, etc. without "creative or editorial" input.

Why I think this concerns us is that this hurts videos that upload, like, hours of uncommented gameplay, which might start disappearing in the future.
Those videos are very valuable for sourcing feats & stuff.

Backing up your scans may also be worthwhile. As always.

Yeah, it's likely another poser...

The Q & A from the rules page he is talking about:
Q1: What types of content are acceptable under the Guidelines? What types of content are not acceptable?

A1: We encourage you to use Nintendo Game Content in videos and images that feature your creative input and commentary. For example, Let's Play videos and video game reviews are within the scope of the Guidelines.
However, you may not simply upload or livestream an existing Nintendo video, gameplay footage without your own creative or editorial input, or a copy of content created by someone else. For example, mere copies of Nintendo promotional videos, trailers, tournaments, music, gameplay sequences, and art collections, etc., or content that can be considered equivalent, are outside the scope of the Guidelines.

Is this the thread for discussing the Kirby series?

With the Nintendo Switch 2 Version/Forgotten Land DLC(?), seems like there might be new things to talk about for this series....

Apparently the dlc is out on 28th of August so might as well forget about the whole thing for a while until they show something new.

Something I noted in the Nintendo Treehouse thing, but forgot to post here:

When the Crystal Path extends from the Wondaria roller coaster tracks, it eventually takes over a Ferris Wheel in the background, & the Ferris Wheel's lights seem to become operational again. Electricity/Energy Manipulation for the crystal?

Apparently, a portion of gameplay is exclusive to Treehouse Live? (Kirby: Forgotten Land DLC.)

I only hope the heart thing is the vessel for Void in that universe.

Btw, some time ago the DB research group made a blog about Vergil vs Galacta Knight in which they wrote most of their Kirby research. So I made a comment there pointing out all the mistakes I saw. And as it turns out, there were far more than what I imagined at glance. Point being, they believed that the Jamba Heart was the seal around Void, rather than the circle around the Jamba Heart Hyness shatters at the start of Star Allies. This is not the case, the Jamba Heart is Void. In the reality of the New World, I'm not saying the heart we see fall will turn into a Void, but it could.

I hope the Forgotten Land DLC gives us some juicy lore/hax.
Yeah.

I mean, I saw the crystal do stuff like Platform Creation, Earth/Crystal Manipulation, I think it parted some waves then turned it to crystal, so Water Manipulation & Transmutation.... There's also the ferris wheel, so energy/light/electricity manipulation, depending on how you interpret it, assuming that's not just distant light of colourful very shiny crystals or something, lol. (No offense meant.)
There was also that reddish pink, fire-like energy we saw burning when the crystal heart was falling.

Enemies with it also seem more aggressive, & the Miniboss Frosty with it is named Crystal Wild Frosty. IDK if it's give the affected Rage Power/Berserk mode. They probably also have new moves, but I don't know the base game or most of it very well.

So that's probably Morality/Empathic Manipulation, technically Mind Manipulation, too. Maybe Animal Manipulation, given what it affects?
Since it powers up the enemies, it may also be able to qualify for Empowerment, &/or Blessed &/or Statistics Manipulation, maybe.

It also seems like some areas of the ground have purple stuff that may resemble acid. IDK if it damages on contact, & didn't see any lore about that, nor do I recall if they ever stepped on it/took damage.
May qualify for Acid Manipulation, Darkness Manipulation (Funnily enough, it'll probably also end up getting Light Manipulation because crystal shiny, lol.) , &/or Corruption?

That said, I doubt that that's much wild, since the Kirby series already has a lot.
You have to get pretty crazy to be impressive by the Kirby franchise's Powers & Abilities standards, I'm sure.
Hopefully that's helpful &/or interesting, or at least appreciable.

IIRC, Kirby is shown to enter an area affected by the crystal, as it is being affected, with no ill effects. That would be a resistance to the Transmutation thing going on, as other beings have a crystals grow on their bodies when that happens to them.

But what's really exciting is that, if this story happens after the events of Forgotten Land, then there is no reason for DDD and MK to not join in as playable characters. One could only hope.

If it were up to me, I would even make Elfilin playable. Let the little guy summon meteors like a mini Fecto Elfilis, tackle things while empowered with psychic energy, and mess around the area with portals. Sadly, such portals would be too hard to program, and Hal is lazy.

More curious to the fact if this is canon or takes place after the events of forgotten land

And considering that they likely will make either new bosses, or use the base bosses for the new DLC, the DDD will, AGAIN, be under the grasp of this new terrain. Becoming Feral, but on a more supernatural or even natural terms???

Both things are as close to being certainties as they could be.

Could be, but wouldn't that feel super lazy, "turns out DDD was in that same place again, under control again." And what would even be controlling him again in the rematch? Best case scenario, we get a new boss rather than DDD in the areas of his fights, or at least a DDD-like character as a boss who isn't the real DDD (like his psychic copy). I do kinda imagine that the crystals create some of the enemies we see rather than always turning already existing creatures into minions. Bc if it only does the latter, how does that explain the enemies that appear out of nowhere as their domain area thing grows?

That said, if you see the 20-or-so minute gameplay, you will notice the sky being split between the regular day sky, and a night sky full of stars in the areas affected by the crystals. Let's all keep in mind, we don't know if the crystals are creating that new space, it may be some other dimension being shown via rifts to it getting bigger. Or a dimension was already inside the crystal and it's growing as it falls into places, moved, but not created from nothing. We will see.

To quote from my CRT:
In the future:
  • In the last world of Triple Deluxe, you can see planet-like things in the space background. And that would be meaningless, but then, if you look closely, they have something behind them to show they're inside Planet Popstar, not outside of it. Even that moon seen at the final fight has this. Most crazy of all, in lower islands of Floralia the same space background could be seen, but not those planets, as if Kirby was going up more than a few thousands of meters. I plan to upgrade Popstar's size to "possibly [Whatever the hell this gives]." Possibly being bc the standard assumption should be that the spaces inside Popstar are bigger in the inside than how they are on the outside. There is a lot that could be said about it.
Turns out something similar happens in Squeak Squad, having an underground "world" with a sun in it and...many, many stars. This is consistent with the other rooms with many stars inside Popstar already listed in the "Planet Popstar" blog. And one of the worlds in Return to Dream Land has a small planet in its background (Take a good look at it here). I kinda hate it but I will have to portray destroying & moving Popstar as "Likely 4-A" rather than possibly. At least in Triple Deluxe there were some star-like symbols in space and one would think "Ok, maybe there is some weird magic going on here." But in Squeak Squad, it seems to just be a size thing, with those giant pillars being implied to reach all the way into space. It's such nonsense.

So uh, I'm debating with someone in a different forum rn on Kirby vs classic Mega Man (they are saying he is 4 universes into low multi and aren't budging on that) and are also saying that the sphere doomer dimensions are not universally sized spaces so it would be nice if I could get justification for that.

I'm just asking for justification for Universal Sphere Doomer areas, the part about me talking about the debate was just background info that shouldn't change anything.

See here: vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Eficiente/Kirby:_Another_Dimension#Size_of_its_dimensions We do link that part of the blog when talking about this.
